Take it or leave it
Last week, Jason Derulo's creepy uncle and wet'n'wild Wiktoria stormed into the finals, while the Swedish public continued to collectively shove pins into their Anna Bergendahl voodoo dolls by forcing her to endure a coach trip to Nyköping with Nano for Andra Chansen, where she will inevitably be knocked out by - POSSIBLY BY ONE OF THESE ARTISTS.
86 year old Jan Malmsjö is 86 years old and turned up to the official photoshoot in a cardigan, bless him. He's a bit of a legend of Swedish stage and screen, and previously came second in Melodifestivalen 1969 with the classic Hej Clown, a jolly ditty written by a pre-ABBA Benny Andersson. Because he's a man, well liked and cute old rather than gross old, he probably has a fair chance of qualifying in some form. That songwriting team isn't the kind to fuck around.
5. Vlad Reiser - Nakna i regnet
(Lukas Nathansson, John Hårleman, Vlad Reiser, Chris Enberg)
Vlad is one of those YouTubers. His most popular video is 12 minutes long and involves him fingering a balloon filled with Coca Cola. It has been viewed 1.4 million times. This is likely to be a shouty comedy number in a Samir och Viktor/De vet du style. If anyone from this heat is going to send Anna Bergendahl packing in AC, it'll be this guy.
6. Hanna Ferm & LIAMOO - Hold You
(Jimmy Jansson, Fredrik Sonefors, Hanna Ferm, Liam Pablito Cacatian Thomassen)
LIAMOO was one of the hot pre-contest favourites last year, but Sweden wasn't quite ready for his sick beatz, and he ended up a bit of an also-ran. Drafting in fellow Swedish Idol alum Hanna Ferm, this is likely to be more palatable fare and could do very well indeed.
7. Margaret - Tempo
(Anderz Wrethov, Jimmy Jansson, Laurell Barker, Sebastian von Koenigsegg)
Polish pop sensation Margaret became the first international artist in ages to reach the Melfest finals last year. She got a Swedish top ten hit out of it, and she'd quite like another one - moreso than she actually wants to go to Eurovision by all accounts. This is likely to be a banger, but will Sweden vote local and force her to go via Andra Chansen again? I suspect yes.

1. Andreas Johnson - Army of Love
(Andreas Johnson, Jimmy Jansson, Sara Ryan, Andreas ”Stone” Johansson, Sebastian Thott)
The people around you
won't tell you how it is
Don't you think it's gone on long enough?
Take a look at yourself
Get out of the car
You know it's time
you've got to let it go
It's gone
2. Malou - I Do Me
(Isa Tengblad, Elvira Anderfjärd, Fanny Arnesson, Adéle Cechal)
Aged just 15, there are almost certainly contestants in this semi final with cardigans older than Malou. A relative newcomer to the music scene, her song is written by ISA, of Don't Stop semi-fame. Despite the title and the fact that it was co-written by somebody called Fanny, chances are this will be fairly wholesome stuff.
3. Oscar Ernestad - I Love It
(Emanuel Abrahamsson, Parker James, Oscar Enestad)
Oscar is the first of two members of FO&O to go solo this year. He absolutely has the more interesting back story. Oscar is 21 and currently dating a 48 year old woman. Apparently this song is about that. Expect lyrical references to attending Michael Buble concerts and having one glass of wine before bed, two if you're feeling naughty.
4. Jan Malmsjö - Leva Livet
(Anderz Wrethov, Elin Wrethov, Johan Bejerholm)
(Andreas Johnson, Jimmy Jansson, Sara Ryan, Andreas ”Stone” Johansson, Sebastian Thott)
