it's time. this album has endured beautifully over the last 15 months and is so clearly her best and most exciting work to date. it's a real front-to-back affair.

00 WTF Do I Know?
00 Plastic Hearts
00 Angels Like You
00 Prisoner ft. Dua Lipa
00 Gimme What I Want
00 Night Crawling ft. Billy Idol
00 Midnight Sky
00 High
00 Hate Me
00 Bad Karma ft. Joan Jett
00 Never Be Me
00 Golden G String

00 Heart of Glass (live)
00 Edge of Midnight ft. Stevie Nicks
00 Zombie (live)

fun fact: I've never watched the Prisoner video. I think I'm scared to.

rate please!

Never ever thought I would be a Miley Cyrus fan. “Slide Away” was a real eye opener and set the stage for me for this album. And Midnight Sky is one for the archives. A monumental song.

It’s not a perfect album, but it’s a great album and it far exceeds any expectations I ever had.

I listened to this a lot when it came out, but not a lot since. Gimme What I Want and Night Crawling see the best imo

I'm sorry to say this and I mean it with all my heart, but, as much as I stan Dua, Prisoner was a terrible choice to release as a follow up to the fantastic Midnight Sky; it's totally unrepresentative of the album and there were much better tracks.

Perhaps it was a case of her record co. wanting to jump on the Dua train? And I hate how she continuously keeps having these short-lived album campaigns, 2 singles, and then she fucks off for years.

it's not that representative of the album, but it was a bigger hit than Midnight Sky in the US and equally big globally so I'd say it was the right choice.

the big mistake was not pushing Angels Like You or the title track properly. both had huge potential. but she left RCA at the beginning of '21 so of course the campaign died there and then.

Never Be Me seems to be very well loved so that could've had some live performances ideally. for some reason she started ONLY performing covers of her idols rather than promoting her own music :eyes: Heart of Glass is really an exceptional moment. WHAT A VOCAL.

Midnight Sky got to 14 in the US and Prisoner got to 54. How was Prisoner a bigger hit?

I loved her 'exclusively doing covers of my 90s faves for some reason' era.

When she covered 'Communication' by The Cardigans... A moment myself and a handful of depressed homosexuals will forever cherish.

SO GOOD. And criminally left off the album. I don't care for her Heart of Glass that much.

Midnight Sky was much bigger in Europe and entered at 14 on the Hot 100 but quickly fell down to the 50s IIRC.

Prisoner must have hung around for ages through because it has now surpassed MS on streaming.

Midnight sky’s 14 peak is a bit deceptive, yes, but it still hung around the chart for four months. I’d be surprised if Prisoner made it half that long and it never made the top 50. Makes sense if it out performed the former on streaming cause of Dua though.
