Because not everything fits into running.

I'm two days into my 700km in September challenge. Will be about 37km done as of this evening. Feet aren't too bad but shorts have hurt my thighs which isn't fun.

Not running, so is this walking 700km in September? That is a challenge. How do you manage to incorporate that into your day?
The plan is to bits and pieces of running added in, but predominantly walking and hiking.

It's about 10km to work and 10km back so I'm just walking my commute and adding on a bit to make the 23km a day mark. I'll do parts of it running when I feel up to it, and use the weekends for more varied routes and hikes, as well as to make up kms if I need to.

I’m doing around 4.8 KM walking a day right now plus daily gardening work while will last until around mid-October or so.

My fitness is as good as its been for a long time, I think I need some sort of challenge to abandon midway through

I get people to donate to a charity for it. It looks to be a bit less this time than last December but I force myself to commit for the whole time if any amount of money has been spent.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for charity fundraising, but I've got enough self imposed stresses without worrying about letting everyone down in yet ANOTHER way.

I set myself a random challenge as of this morning of being able to do 100 pressups.

On days I’m not at the gym, I’m doing 10 pressups on the minute with the aim of getting to the total.

Got to 69 (nice) this morning which considering I did arms and shoulders yesterday isn’t terrible.

STAND BY FOR UPDATES.

My walking in August was somewhat down on July. I averaged 15.74km daily in July, and in August it was 13km exactly.

I did purposely challenge myself to walk a lot more in July though - August I decided to still walk more, but focus on walking at a better speed to get the heart rate up, rather than on total distance.

My weight hasn't changed really over the last month or so - it's hovering just below 13st, but I'm pleased with that. That feels like a good target to keep the right side of psychologically, and my BMI remains in normal while I'm there.

I have also started doing a lot of resistance band work as well the last couple of weeks, but that's more about trying to tone up and gain strength rather than lose weight.

AND I guess the most important thing of all is that my blood pressure has reduced significantly over this period. I was in hypertensive crisis at the end of March when I was at the heart institute, but since my last review a few weeks ago I'm averaging 139/89, which is still higher than ideal, and assisted by medication, but I'm convinced it's also helped not insignificantly by the changes to diet and exercise I've made.

NOT DEAD YET :disco:

I'm still hovering around 82.5kg - 83.5kg, where I've been for around 6 weeks now. But I'm not being quite so strict around food as I was for the previous few months.

However, according to my health app, my body fat has fallen from 25.8% to 21.7% since the end of August - and from 27.5% in June when I first recorded it. I'm sure it would have been 30%+ had I measured it in April when I started trying to lose weight.

And my skeletal muscle is up to 34.7kg from 31.3kg.

I'm assuming this is the work with resistance bands beginning to pay off.

I dipped to 12km daily in September, but managed to increase it back to 13.29km in October. I think that's going to be harder to maintain as the weather turns worse and daylight hours are shorter though.

My weight is still hovering around 83kg so if anything I've gained a pound or two but I'm not actively trying to lose weight in any real sense any more, and have slipped back into a few bad habits diet wise, which I need to keep in check.

I'm averaging about 90 - 120 minutes weekly with the resistance bands, which is why I assume I haven't put a little more weight back on.

And people are still commenting on me having lost weight, despite not having done so for three months now. I'd say the difference in terms of muscle is starting to show in my shoulders and upper arms particularly - it's pretty subtle, but I can see and feel it. And my posture is undoubtedly better now, which probably enhances it more. So that all probably makes my shape look better, even if I haven't lost any weight.

I feel like I almost do it anyway. I'd like to be more structured with my eating (and eating the same time and time again is absolutely no issue anyway). I tend to eat 2 big meals a day and never really feel hungry after them, but I also carry "stubborn" fat despite being decently active sports-and-gym-wise. I do make myself about 4-5 huge coffees consisting of mostly milk - that might be something to swap for tea I guess.

I put on 6lb over pre-Christmas and New Year. To be honest though, considering I ate a whole load of crap for over 3 weeks, and gave up all exercise other than walking (and considerably less of that, mostly due to daylight and weather), I was worried it was going to be worse than that.

I've been back on the resistance bands 3 or 4 times weekly and been eating more carefully (although certainly not 'a diet') for just over 2 weeks now, and have lost 2lb of that. I want to get back to where I was, but don't feel the need to try any harder to get there. I'm still just over a stone lighter than I was a year ago, and still fitting into a large (rather than XL) in the new clothes I've bought or had for Christmas. Although I put on that weight, I can't really see where it went.

December I averaged 12.3k steps daily. In January it increased to 15.3k, and I'm on 16.9k these few days into February.

Yeah i've been intermittent fasting all my life without realising it was a thing. I eat at 12 and 6. ish.
