Natalie Imbruglia - Album #7 (1 Viewer)

She's such an understated sultry QUEEN.
Can't wait to see her again in November supporting the Corrs. Radio 2 Halli-Heaven :disco:

Is that part of a concert series? Which label is that on? I thought she had signed with BMG?

It is through Demon Music

"Demon Music Group Limited is a record company owned by BBC Studios that is mainly concerned with back-catalogue rights and re-issuing recordings as compilations on physical media via supermarkets and specialist stores."

Oh.

why does she always pay absolute dust to Come to Life? there were some great songs on that.

It never even got released in the UK back in the day and flopped big time in Australia.
My God/Lukas/Fun what a fab opening trio though. Still find Want extremely addictive. I blame utter bilge "buzz" single Wild About It for killing the album

It is an absolute travesty that some of those tracks are consigned to Natalie's mouldy basement because of label shenanigans.

Admittedly "Want" isn't quite the everything I initially thought in 2009.

But Lukas / Fun / Twenty / All The Roses remain PEAK. Even if the latter isn't quite bright or breezy.

Fun is just stunning. and somehow not a single? All the Roses too. Even the ruined Scars bops off lightly.

Another Masked Singer gig? Sounding a bit like Cyndi on this.

There’s also a Dua Lipa song from this week

I only listened to the first of those two, that's my excuse and am sticking to it !

She trialled a new track "Habit" at the O2 gig tonight, so I'm guessing there may be a new album in the works.

More synthy than usual - the chorus perhaps a bit flimsy, but the verses rather Robyn-esque.

The Firebird tracks (What It Feels Like / Just Like Old Timea) much more impactful live than they sound on record.

New timbre IN TACT

Love this song so much, good to finally have a version on streaming

If a Flo album can chart at número tres then I think Nat could SURELY go to nùmero uno.

She has a weird UK album chart history.

Left of the Middle peaked at number 5! But spent 101 weeks in the top 100.

White Lilies Island peaked at quite a disastrous number 15 (most undeservedly). Then spent 17 weeks in the top 100.

Counting Down The Days went number 1, also 17 weeks in the top 100, and yet basically spelt the end of her studio album career.

Then Firebird came along in 2021 (after Male got to number 20 in 2015) and peaked at number 10 - her third highest studio album peak - but spent 1 week in the top 100.

She's surprisingly unsuccessful, underperforming and underrated. :( But we love her

“Foreword by the late Larry King”

Ok that’s quite impressive, maybe he’s the real deal?

Hinting that something ‘Come To Life’ related is upcoming. In another one of these she chose Wrong Impression over Shiver which surprised me as Shiver is one of her signature hits (though I agree).
