I do wonder how Liam Gallagher's gambit of issuing the live album alongside his new one will pan out. The gambit will be that folks will just say "ah, why not" and pick it up at the same time but it will surely do nowt on streaming. Interesting strategy - he's effectively putting a 'bundle' on the shelves.

Why on earth are you even paying it any mind when there's a new album by The Fizz to be discussed, not to mention a cover of that Pistols classic by Sarah Brightman & Alfie Boe, The NHS Voices Of Care Choir, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra?

OOO SUEDE ALBUM IN SEPTEMBER :disco:

Has the CD release of the Kelly Lee Owens album been put back AGAIN and WHY? I'm sure it was meant to come out in June which was irritating enough, given that the download has been available for weeks

On a Suede note, why on earth are they playing the ELECTRIC BALLROOM in October? What a GRISLY VENUE!

I must say I'm hoping for more dramas along the lines of The Blue Hour from the new album although the song titles don't necessarily suggest as much. Nice cover though

Apparently, it's their "punk" album so if you enjoy the group live, you should be quids in. I'm hoping it sounds like Bloodsports should have sounded.

I was glad to hear Brett describing it like this. For me ‘The Blue Hour’ was the toughest of their catalogue to get into, I find more to admire than love on it.

There’s a new Leona Naess album out on June 3rd called Brood X @ManicKangaroo I’d hate for her to not have a hit because it wasn’t mentioned here.

Oh I loved The Blue Hour. That’s exactly the Suede I love most. Not that I can bear to listen to most of it these days as it reminds me of a horrendously dark hour so maybe more of the same isn’t really what I need

PUNK IT IS THEN :disco:

I couldn't get into the Blue Hour. Much like yourself @BoysForSeles, I could admire the songwriting and the musicianship but I couldn't get to loving it. Bloodsports had some great songs and Night Thoughts was genuinely excellent. They've had a more than worthwhile second run, I feel.

How can anyone NOT get into Life Is Golden?

Maybe it takes a CERTAIN MOOD, not that it’s one I’d necessarily recommend

I’m astounded by how good LE GRAND RETOUR has BEEN!

Oh I love Life Is Golden too but don’t you find that so many of your favourite albums are directly connected to things happening in your life or your lifestyle at the time?

Oh God yes

From The Choirgirl Hotel - stoned senseless at every opportunity :disco:
Bright Red / The Ugly One With The Jewels (Laurie Anderson) - as above plus the cabaret years :disco:

ETC.

I know - broke my rule and pre-ordered because there's an exclusive 12" single being given "free" with the bundles. Why is "free" in inverted commas? Because it allegedly costs £7.50 to post an LP and a CD. 🤔

I went for a bundle with the 12" too. Oddly the 12" wasn't listed in my order confirmation then I got an email later saying I had missed out on it and they had added to the order.

These postage prices seem to have been hiked right up lately. It is some of the ones for just a CD that seem really excessive.

Life Is Golden is the best reunion Suede song, though it definitely isn't typical of the album. I'd take Bloodsports of the three albums I think - Snowblind is my favourite and should have been a single.

I think it was stupidly limited to start with - 1000 or something. Due to "demand" (ie sales then slowing to a trickle), they extended the run and added it on for anyone who missed out which was properly decent of them.
