I think it’s time to have a conversation around why we need to have a name change approved by other members. What is the reason? 🥴

I think we should all be afforded the AGENCY to call ourselves whatever we feel like calling ourselves, though maybe with a limit of one or two changes a year.
 
Because the name change doesn't become immortalized as an "inside anecdote" until everyone knows about it.

Particularly when it's so easy now to see what the name used to be for the easily confused.
 
It’s not like you have to listen to the crowd regarding your name change. It’s just nice to have twenty or thirty people to tell you, ‘no, that‘s fuck awful’ before you’ve actually made the change.
 
Or, just have me back on the admin team and I'll change it if you ask nicely.
