GoldenEye had an uncapped framerate apparently, so it's definitely possible that it'll be running at 60fps (PilotWings is like this on the Switch).

Oh that's nice. That (and the general blurriness of all 3D games in this console, but particularly bad in this) is probably the worst thing about retro gaming on the N64. And I'm not even a FRAMES WHORE.

Yeah I can’t really get interested until I know it’s going to run at a decent lick.

Don’t know why the Xbox one has had upgrade and not this

I think it's because that version is part of the Rare Replay thing, and all the N64 games in that have a standard set of improvements. Conversely the Switch version has online multiplayer where the Xbox one doesn't, because it's a feature of the Switch Online emulator for all games :o

Is this the only game that lets you play as Grace Jones? I can't think of any others  Obviously a game based on VAMP would have been iconic if it existed.

I have an infinite backlog, but my god am I bored and want the next Switch already.

But 007 will get me back on NSO I suppose.

I guess that'll be the final Zelda trailer? Mein gott that game has big hype to live up to.

Plus Bayo Origins, Advance Wars and Metroid Prime 4 (who actually wants THAT anymore?!).

Did anyone bother with Lego Skywalker? I’m not a HUGE Star Wars fan but I’ve finished both Marvel ones now (whatever happened to that planned third??) and I need a new one. It does look wonderful. Can’t tell if it’s open world though, it looks like one long game from the clips.

Just want Metroid Prime Trilogy tbh

:WellThereWeAre:

Quite a good Direct, I thought! Game Boy and GBA games on Switch Online finally, Metroid Prime remaster shadow dropped, and plenty of other stuff announced. The Zelda trailer looked good but it still feels like they're not showing very much - I guess they know everyone's gonna buy it either way :tongueout:

Nothing about Silksong again, but I've stopped expecting it to show up every time now :(

Locking GBA games behind the Expansion Pack is a bit scummy, but they've brought quite a few bangers in this first set of titles (The Minish Cap, Mario & Luigi and Wario Ware are the three gems for me, plus Metroid Fusion in the 'coming soon' section).

I just wanted the original Tetris and Mario Land 2 (jumping up slime). Not sure what the Splatoon DLC really was at all - just bring back all old weapon combos/specials instead of old hubs. Metroid didn't look impressive and Advanced Wars ought to have been the shadow drop, but perhaps they want as many people 'primed' for Prime 4 as possible. Lovely to open with Pikmin 4 - I liked the small nod to Odyssey at the very beginning of it, but all the new gameplay features looked incredibly sweet. For the 7th year, it was rather strong overall even if out of that context it was just decent. GB and GBA are rather belated - give us Virtual Boy if you think you're treating us. Oh and Konami Racers among the next batch of GBA please.

Level 5 showing up was semi interesting, but nothing for me with those 2. And Baten Kaitos looked rather ugly - I hope they don't mistreat all GameCube remasters like they have with this one. I know they are not considered the best looking games anyway, but I think here exposed them in a needlessly bad and aged way (then again, Tales was even worse). Prime being £35 seems both cheap and too much :D

I was gifted a £50 eShop voucher for a recent popular holiday, but I don't know what to buy with it :o The intention was to use it for Zelda but I'm going to buy that physically, so it's FAIR GAME.

I was thinking either Metroid Prime or the new Theatrhythm (played the demo last night and loved it), but both are probably likely to get significant discounts in a few months so I'm happy to wait.

Metroid won't get a significant discount, it's a Nintendo exclusive.

Nintendo go as deep as 33%. That's always how I weigh it up anyway. MPR looks a lot better than I first thought. I never liked the controls on GameCube, which seems to have been addressed.

Dragon Quest going 50% is an exception, but I think that's probably more SE (Nintendo published it in The West) as the first discounts were the usual 33 off.

One of the best Metroid games! Highly recommended for anyone who hasn't played it before.

Can't sleep, so booting up the new booster pass for MK8D. That should kill 30 minutes. Hoping the new Yoshi track and Birdo please muchly. Unbelievable that this game originates from almost 9 years ago now. MK9 must surely be a launch window game for the next Nintendo platform.

Amsterdam disappointing - I wanted more of the signature canal bridges.

Riverside Park. Much more like it. Very short, but I liked the sunset lighting.

DK's Snowboard Cross. An oldie, but goodie perhaps. I never played too much of the Wii game, but found this incarnation much easier to control and see what was going on. Not bad.

Yoshi's Island. Well, the starting banner is gorgeous, but my immediate impression is that they really should have went with the original's art style more as it's easily got the most going on visually.

Bangkok Rush. Nearly fantastic. Let down by the slightly off visual finish that is laminating all this DLC of course and that the water section is not repeated in all laps (I thought this was easily the best sequence so far).
