Paris 2024 - Day 13 (Thu 8 August) (1 Viewer)

I miss the individual pursuit. If sprint has a team and individual version, pursuit should too. And I agree that keirin should be replaced by the 1k time trial.

Has he just spent his legs. He owned the whole thing.

Did the British gold medalist get booed, again, because she beat the French woman? What sore losers!

Not that I’m near cycling professional but Carlin looks quite scrappy when he puts the power down? Wobblin’ all over the place

Never been too fussed about the sprint cycling, but I'm loving how vicious they're being tonight :disco:

I also think this is easily our hottest cycling squad, and my heart is warmed seeing Jason Kenny in the John Candy role. GO TEAM GB

Her previous best was 13.92, so 14.44 a pretty significant improvement.

Hopefully she can come through with a great 200m.

Shocked the BBC are actually showing the javelin (which is hotting up) - shouldn’t they be reviewing Lyles’ medical records.

For the remaining three events, Thaim’s 2024 SB is 3,036.

If KJT can meet her 2023 SB, her’s is 3,016. That would give her victory by about 28 points (7,071 v 7,043).

Thiam (2024 SB)

Javelin: 948 (53.00m)
Long jump: 1,128 (6.59m)
800m: 961 (2:11.79)

3,036 pts

KJT (2023 SB)

Javelin: 822 (46.14m)
Long jump: 1,130 (6.60m)
800m: 1,064 (2:05.63)

3,016 pts

What happened in the Omnium? How did Hayter end up at 8th? Did he flail in the 100 lap race (I didn't see it)?

Pretty much every other contender gained a lap or two (and thus 20 bonus points).

Poor Femke looks so sad :(
The mixed 4x4 probably cost her a silver, she was never getting close to Sydney in that form, but then without it she wouldn’t have an Olympic gold medal though the mixed relay gold doesn’t seem quite as gold as other golds at the moment.
