Canoeing was inportant to her and when she was forced to stop because of an injury she turned to self-harming. The swimming competitions are happening at Paris La Défense Arena, an already existing multi-purpose arena. I think the Paris Aquatic Centre (diving, water polo) in Saint Denis is the only venue that was built for the games.
