To be honest I thought he already was. First heard of him as being the Leslie Nielsen lookalike from The Naked Gun 33 1/3, but I do know he was so much more than that. Did talk shows before Oprah made them shit.

I thought so - I'm guessing it was before or after something like Prisoner: Cell Block H, Married With Children or American Gladiators - those were the shows I remember specifically watching, and I guess I caught him sometimes as well.
