Proposition 8 (and later same-sex marriage developments)

*stands up*
*clears throat*
Fuck the DUP.
*sits down*

Here's hoping this actually comes to something.

Something possibly good that came out of this session of parliament.

79 Conservative and DUP voted against it. Jacob Rees Mogg was one. Arsehole.

I am actually fine with the likes of Jacob Rees Mogg and the DUP 'voting their consciences' on this issue, simply because it means that the rest of us can see what appalling, foetid places their consciences are.

There surely won't be any surprises in the "against" votes - it'll be the traditional cunt's cavalcade.

So it looks like gay marriage and abortion are going to be decriminalised in Northern Ireland at midnight due to procedural default (something to do with Stormont not sitting).

BERMUDA'S BAN ON SAME-SEX MARRIAGE IS CONSTITUTIONAL, UK COURT RULES

Firstly, it's so weird that a UK court has any say in this.

Second, could they not have just done the right thing?
I think there is very little that can be done, unfortunately, other than interpret the constitution as-is (and not read across from the UK or other states, which is what I think part of the argument to the privy council was).

A sorry state of affairs, considering they were heading towards legalisation before a change of government.
