I KNEW I forgot somethingSO GOOD YOU LITERALLY FORGOT IT TWO POSTS LATER![]()
Not bothered about Rachel Stevens, but this topic is going to send me down a Bad Haircut/Nothing Good About This Goodbye/Still Standing spiral again.
The promo album in the sparkly cardboard sleeve?
Also why did 'Addicted' and 'Coming On Strong' not make the Cocoon tracklist? They were both fantastic. Presumably they'd been given to someone else?
Of course it's a 10/10 moment even though at the time I was annoyed that it was shamelessly Goldfrapp-lite. And yes Come & Get IT is pop perfection and may I also add that "DUMB DUMB" is in my Rachel top 10 (hasn't been mentioned in this thread THUS far.)
This podcast with Hannah Robinson has lots of amusing Raquel Stevens stories
May contain CRITIQUE of Geru Halli-Horner for those of a sensitive disposition

‘A Geru For All Seasons’If I ever win the lottery, one of my first acts will be to fund a star studded feature-length movie about the Some Girls/Me Plus One fiasco. It’s my Roman empire.

God love her, but if this interview is anything to go by, I can only imagine what a gripping page turner the book is going to be![]()
- She was seemingly bullied from young age, everywhere she went. This has essentially made her guarded.
- Emphasis on how she looked was somewhat imposed on her from a young age by family.
- Family not very open, rocky relationship with her father after he left (in repair now).
- Suffers with anxiety and perfectionism, terrified to get things wrong.
- Has been diagnosed with PTSD after a mugging where she was pinned to the ground outside her flat and had her jewellery ripped off her person while other men robbed her flat. In the same few weeks, she was a bystander in a shooting at a restaurant.
- Tells the story of how Mike Rose and his production partner found her at Sony's canteen, she was Lolly but Simon Fuller offered her a place in S Club after hearing her "Telephone Boy" recording.
- Didn't question her record contract ending after "Come and Get It".
- Seemed to enjoy the doing live cabaret stuff that was cut short cause of COVID.
- Stays in relationships too long out of fear.
- Felt like an imposer during S Club cause everyone else had experience and training she didn't have. Felt like she had lots to say during S Club interviews etc but was frightened she'd say the wrong thing.
- Didn't question her record contract ending after "Come and Get It".
