One half of the Wee Papa Girls Rappers died a couple of days ago, Samantha Lawrence was just 55 and had cancer. They had a massive hit in '88 with Wee Rule, and also had fairly big hits with Heat it up, Blow my house down, Soulmate and Faith.

Ironically I was only listening to Wee Rule a few days ago.

I will always have massively fond memories of Wee Rule.

When i was in 6th form, we went to stay for a week at Slapton Ley field centre in south Devon for a geography and biology field trip. It was the first time I spent that long away from home, and I think all my best friends were there. Wee Rule and The Time Warp (RIP Damian also from cancer, of course) were the two songs I remember playing every night in the common room.

Probably my happiest school memories are rom that week. Thank you Samantha.
