Portuguese singer who brought her country a rare Eurovision success in 1994 with the rather lovely Chamar a musica. She went on to have a successful career away from the Contest, particularly in Jazz and World Music.

Just 45, apparently she’d been receiving treatment for a brain tumour.

Did we do 1994? I wonder how we ranked it.

8th

So congratulations to Melania, Kati and the clear Queen of Life that is Dorkas a.k.a. MeKaDo.

Yeah it doesn’t look like we bothered during lockdown. It’s not considered a golden year really, though it has its moments.

Surprised I gave top marks to France in the above linked Moopyvision. That shameless Mylene Farmer tribute hasn’t aged well for me. Possibly because I’m more familiar with the source material than I was then.

Oh no. :( That’s such a tragedy. I remember she was pretty much my age. RIP Sara 👼
