I just got a notification about this on my phone. It seems really horrific :(
 
Arrested a 17 year old from a nearby village.
 
Good God. What on earth would drive someone to that? So, so sad.
 
Can you even imagine the mindset of someone who leaves the house with the intention of stabbing up a room of little girls at a summer holiday dance class?

This is why the police have asked people not to speculate. People speculate anyway because they want to use anything, even an event as horrific as this, to further their own agenda.
 
I'm notably not a fan of the woman, but decent of her to acknowledge this.

The reports say the 17 year old was born in Cardiff to Rwandan parents and lived in Stockport since 2013. WTF have mosques got to do with that?

I always get anxious when something like this happens - because if the attacker happens to belong to a minority group then there is a contingent of people who will take that out on everyone of that demographic. In this instance, it doesn’t even appear to need to be proven that a group has anything to do with it… there is zero evidence this guy is Muslim! His parents are from a country where the population is overwhelmingly Christian.

Someone broke down the fake name doing around social media - they basically said it was very unlikely to be a real name because the surname is Indian and the way the name is set out is Arab. If you’re going to make up nonsense to stir up fury, at least do your fucking research.
 
One of my colleagues is from Southport and didn’t show in for work today. Really hoping she is ok.

This is just horrific. Hope all impacted get the best support possible.

I agree with you 100%. Bad, mad and sad people come in lots of shapes and sizes but as soon as there's any suggestion it's a person of a minority group or, to be frank, just non-white the noise just gets louder and louder, and in the midst of the outrage I can't help but feel the compassion for those impacted just gets lost in the mix.
