Sylvester - I (who have nothing)

FABULOUS. As is the accompanying montage of 70s soft porn. :horny:

Old furry knockers at 07:15 was in fact one of the first inclusions in my (ahem) special wank book. I hasten to add that this was in the eighties NOT seventies :side-eye:

I don’t understand why his whole back catalogue hasn’t been remastered and expanded for mass gay consumption. I read that there’s been biography films in the pipeline for many years. I seem to remember his character was included in a recent-ish film or tv series but I can’t recall what it was.

Anyhoo - I think he’s well overdue the total adulation he deserves.

The biography by Joshua Gamson is quite a good read too.

Didn’t she more or less sue her way to a solo career due to the C + C music factory / Black Box debacle?

Good on her!

You can never have enough of OUR SYLV, but I think my all time favourite JAM is this

Generally I think the seventies disco material is the cream of his output (I wouldn't say the wheels came off on the eighties Hi-NRG stuff though they may have occasionally rattled) but you may be right.

I'll have to check out the book.

There must be licensing issues with the albums as surely one of the Cherry Red labels or Disco Recharge a few years back would have done nice deluxe editions of the Fantasy stuff at least. Most of his catalogue seems to be on Spotify, though not this:

Oh I agree. His 70s disco work was the greatest but “Do You Wanna Funk?” is an outlier of just 80s output. It’s good enough to spin in a proper disco set and get away with it...

New 15 minute documentary on YT

I recently finished the (wonderful) biography so that was a nice companion piece and did the job of putting faces to a few names. I guess it is understandable with it being so short but in terms of music it seemed to be (Mighty Real) and (Disco Heat) and that was IT.
