Back To December is the official second single. I hope they go for something different in the UK, I see Haunted or better Than Revenge doing better here.
 
The lyrics of "Dear John" (which is a bit TOO long to be played often) amazed me too.

I cannot believe that I like this, it really isn't my normal cup of tea AT ALL. But this album is so sweet and does have some pretty impressive lyrics for an artist of her genre and age.

that's how i feel. the fact that she's written the whole lot herself and it's all TRUE (allegedley) and BITTER is great.

Nothing wildy unexpected, which is hardly surprising anyway. It looks pretty, she looks pretty, that's about all I can say on it.

If they are going with this as the 2nd WW single, I don't see it performing all that well really, but it might shift a few albums.
 
Lovely video, basically how I would excpect it. But they could have gone for a hotter actor in my opinion.
The song needs some big promotion in Europe. She is still a nobody in Germany for example.
 
The snowing indoors thing is pretty cool actually. The guy is quite cute too, but you would have thought they'd have gotten someone with tan skin, given that that's what the lyrics say...

Why didn't they bung this out in December and cash in on the winter-themed airplay? In most places outside of the US, she could have done with the Xmas album sales anyway.

I really do love this album though. :( Bizarre.
 
the actor IS hot :o but they should have just got taylor lautner in it and be done with it
 
This song is really nice and everything but it's no multi-million selling smash that she really needs to cement this album as the long-running blockbuster that Fearless and her debut were.

I think "Sparks Fly" should be the next single or maybe "The Story of Us"
 
"Mean" is the third single :|

I don't understand, the album's sales are softening and the past two singles (although hits) hardly reached "Love Story" or "You Belong With Me" heights, why go with such a LIMP song

"Sparks Fly" would've been the best choice in my opinion
 
Is she actually TRYING to not to well then. That is literally the worst possible choice, well, that or Never Grow Up. I'm sure she's gone for it because of what its about, by it has no crossover appeal, certainly not compared with some of the rest of the stuff on the album.
 
Ah, so "The Story of Us" is the next international single instead of "Mean".

The Story Of Us has got quite a bit of airplay (17 million AI), which is good, but does that mean they've passed over Back To December in the UK then?

yes from what I've heard they canceled "Back to December" in the UK

Why the hell haven't I downloaded this gem yet? I loved them, maybe I should sample the whole thing!

Will she ever have a mainstream hit again though? :(
 
Right then, I'm not sure what I expected from a Taylor Swift concert. It was just a little boring really, no doubting she can sing, we all know that but she doesn't actually DO anything. I wasn't expecting a high energy dance routine or anything but a little bit of personality might have been nice. She did do a very amusing STRIDE across the stage at one point though to talk to a guy who was OVERCOME at the sight of her :D

This campaign's been a bit of a MESS in Europe, hasn't it? Not that it matters given how much it's sold in the US, I suppose.
 
Even in the US the campaign hasn't been anywhere near as slick as that for 'Fearless' has it? In Europe it's been a complete mess really, putting the 2nd single out 5 months after the first, cancelling it and shoving a new one out 2 weeks later with no video and a little airplay isn't exactly a genius move.
 
And the "Mean" video is now out too, it actually makes me *kind of* like the song :o

Is Mean doing the business in the US? It's probably my least favourite song on the album and the video doesn't really do much for me.
 
I think they're only really promoting it to Country radio while thy plan on "The Story of Us" taking off at Pop. "Mean" just entered the Country top ten radio chart so it seems to be going well there but it will probably end up being one of her lower charting singles.
