Shooting incident between Egypt and Israel being reported.
I find this unlikely. when I check in with my bestie who's living in Tel Aviv right now he tells me most people there just want an end to it, and above all they want the government out. I really can't imagine a majority of the country wants another year of warfare expanding outside of Gaza - especially if, as you claim, Hezbollah has a fuck ton of weaponry. going into Lebanon feels like a very risky move from a man who wants to burn out in a blaze of glory, and not anything that could benefit Israel. Also, apparently the majority of Israelis support serious attacks on Hezbollah. But I think these were surveys done by Jewish think tanks so some may consider it inaccurate or biased.
Yeah I actually looked into that survey right after my post and it turns out it was done by the Jewish People Policy Institute, who I know nothing about. Even IF these figures were accurate, it's hard to have confidence in surveys conducted during wartime. Public sentiment fluctuates and achieving a truly random sample is much harder. We've also seen how governments will literally fabricate and weaponize survey 'results' *cough* Putin *cough*I find this unlikely. when I check in with my bestie who's living in Tel Aviv right now he tells me most people there just want an end to it, and above all they want the government out. A senior Hamas official told the BBC that it will not participate in the indirect talks on a Gaza ceasefire and hostage release deal due to resume in Doha on Thursday.
The Palestinian armed group wanted a roadmap for implementing the agreement and would “not engage in negotiations for the sake of negotiations in order to provide cover for Israel to continue its war”, the official said.
He reiterated that the roadmap should be based on the proposed deal outlined by US President Joe Biden at the end of May and accused Israel of adding “new conditions”.
Israel’s prime minister has denied doing so and said Hamas has been the one demanding changes.
