The Masked Singer UK - Series 5 (2 Viewers)

Yes I think the 1% Club has legs and should be moved a bit earlier. It is quite the success for ITV.

Saturday Night Takeaway is back next week so I would think that will get even more than The Masked Singer but the live audience figure will be telling for that as I don’t think it is all that successful on catch up.
Ugh. If I’m in on a Saturday I’d much rather watch The 1% Club or Beat The Chasers over Saturday Night Takeaway, or god forbid Britain’s Got Talent.

While The Masked Singer is good for families, it’s literally only pensioners I know of who still watch those other two weekend ITV staples.

I would disagree on that one Ellie. I would say Saturday Night Takeaway and BGT are much more popular family viewing and would have thought 1% Club and Beat The Chasers are the ones aimed at a more senior audience. :D

It’s not quite dying as I assumed. 4 million on the overnights, although lower than previous seasons is seen as a success on a Saturday night now?
I'm not sure how much of a success, but certainly not a flop.

Maybe it’s a Northern thing :basil:

I think I count as Northern, but more Midlands :)

On ITV for those Saturday night shows, I doubt any in particular are aimed at 'seniors'. BGT and Saturday Night Takeaway (I prefer the latter, and how it's live) are family shows. Beat The Chasers and 1% Club more 16+ perhaps? Sometimes I watch these; the questions are better on 1% but seeing the 'action' is more interesting for the Chasers.
Regarding Dommett, I found him annoying at first, but don't mind him now. After seeing another show he 'presented' last year, it proved that he is a much better fit for presenting The Masked Singer. :D

I have no idea who Maya Jama is

But I'm glad Rita now has more time to terrorise CGI skyscrapers

Jesus, how did she fit an entire restaurant into her hand luggage?

I thought that was a very fun special. French and Saunders were a marked improvement to the panel, Star was very excitable and a brilliant reveal, and the winner was amusingly unbothered about being there.

Delaying the reveal of Masked Joel until January was not very festive however.

Totally agree and there was a distinct lack of stupid guesses too (apart from Mary Berry which stopped being funny after the second time).

Was this a Christmas special or part of the new season? If it was the former then please enlighten me.
