ButterTart
Succulent Christmas meal
Is there anyone mulling it over who we can convince to stand?
I would genuinely like it if we could have as diverse a moderating team as possible. A broader range of perspectives would really be a boon given the increased social responsibility that's become part of the mod role in recent years. I've always felt uncomfortable with being one of a small, fairly uniform panel of moral arbiters because it can be hard to know when we're over or under moderating language or discourse that doesn't relate to us or our lived experience. Everyone on this site wants Moopy to be a broad church where everyone is welcome, and I think that having somebody on the mod team who has their back would be the key to people broaching subjects or calling out behaviour that they might not previously have felt empowered or encouraged to speak up about.
While I'm manifesto-ing I might as well also mention that I feel like Moopy sometimes gives newer members a rough go of it, and I really want us to encourage new posters. Most of us are very old and we need a new generation to carry on our rich legacy of original content such as posting smilies of Starlet off Drag Race and putting the word Oh in quote marks.
Also, during my time as mod I've made the wrestling thread the number one sports entertainment destination for posters named after plants, dying real music genres, ancillary Donkey Kong characters and Canadian baked goods, so a vote for ButterTart is a vote for freedom to talk about any old shit you want.
