A change in management at Turkey's national broadcaster has led to rumours that they're eyeing a return in 2018, seemingly confirmed by former winner Sertab Erener in a recent Instagram video. The new General Director of TRT has expressed aims of cultivating a more 'international outlook' than his predecessors, although that is somewhat at odds with Turkey's current anti-Western political stance.

I think it'd be good for Turkey as a country if they came back, but I don't find the prospect of them eating up another qualification spot with generally under-par material especially thrilling.
