TV Ratings 2022

Me too! Who's your favourite contestant left in the competition?
I don’t know their name but the black man’s aesthetic is very me. I like his style.

Banjo or Jimbo or whatever he’s called is very good too!

I like the woman who does prints, it worked for the sixth form task but felt like her wallpapers will date quite quickly in some settings, like last night. She’s clearly very talented though.

I like Banjo too and print woman. Michelle always has to explain to the GUEST JUDGE that she DOES HER OWN PRINTS YOU KNOW.

Took me a while to realise Mary Portas wasn’t that woman who looks like Anthea Turner.

The BARB website hasn't updated, so those figures don't include pre-transmission viewing (which presumably explains why Holding dropped so hard) and also doesn't include non-TV viewing. I'll update if the figures are available later in the week.

I’ve started watching Holding and BY GOD it ain’t far from the truth.

Dreadful figures in the absence of the big dramas we've had this year so far, and now The Apprentice finishing as well.

The final episode of Holby would be #22 with 3.020m - narrowly behind Casualty.

Peaky Blinders ticked up a bit for the rather good finale then.

It will be interesting to see how Gentlemen Jack does in the same slot next week.

Britain's Got Talent is back this weekend, I assume that retains enough ratings power to top the chart.

I see Oti Mabuse is continuing her ITV takeover by hosting the lead in, Romeo & Duet, a blind date come duet sing off affair. Don't think I will be watching, but good for her.

Was Peaky Blinders available on iplayer beforehand? I can't help but think 5million is a bit low for something with such a high profile.

Overall, those figures are terrible, muriel.

That includes pre-transmission viewing. I've said before that Peaky Blinders doesn't pull in the audience that its profile suggests. You'd think it was Line Of Duty big, but evidently not. I think it's just very popular with a vocal demographic.

Peaky Blinders wasn't available before the live showing.

I was going to say it was more of a BBC2 programme but then it did pull in more viewers than anything else BBC1 offered up that week.

Good Lord those figures are TERRIBLE. I would think with the better weather things are just going to dip further and further until The Queens Jubilee celebrations?

Britain's Got Talent will presumably #1 next week, unless there was another big show last week I'm forgetting.

I’m not sure how well The Thief, His Wife and The Canoe will do. It seems to have been getting advertised forever.

According to overnight figures BGT shed 2 million on the previous seasons opener.

It has been well publicised and true crime dramas seem to do well for ITV usually, so they will be expecting good numbers I imagine.

I watched the first episode last night after it was wel advertised. Have no idea how they’ve drawn the story out in to 4 hour long episodes. It wasn’t half as entertaining as it could have been.

The second episode had a bit more going on but I do agree. It seems the default for the stripped over consecutive nights drama is four episodes and it is often somewhat of a stretch.

Approx 4.7m in the overnights for the first episode, down to 4.0m for the second. Less than BGT had in the overnights, but I imagine it will do better on catch up than BGT.

And the Canoe thing ended with 4.71m in the overnights, so it held up well. I suspect it will end up with 6m plus.

I haven’t watched yet, but will no doubt enjoy it as the story at the time did fascinate me.

I caught the highlights of Canoe on Gogglebox, just the way I like to watch some dramas these days :D

That's just the first episode for Canoe - the other episodes will all fall in next week's chart.

For BGT I averaged the Saturday and Sunday shows. There was a drop of over a million from Saturday to Sunday.

Huge for Derry Girls.

Ouch for Doctor Who and Gentleman Jack.

Derry Girls UP :disco:

I quite enjoy Gentleman Jack but have to admit that not a lot happens. Not surprised that it isn't pulling in the Sunday night numbers.

Fantastic figures for The Thief, His Wife and The Canoe. I thought it would do pretty big numbers.

I could never get in to Gentleman Jack. I tried with the first season as I love nothing more than a good bit of easy watching on a Sunday evening but I managed to get through about half of the first season before turning off completely, and haven’t bothered at all with season 2.
