UK General Election 2024 - Results Day (1 Viewer)

So I posted in the other thread about the leaflet I got from a local Christian woman who was standing in my constituency...

Ooh, a RELIGIOUS LOON LEAFLET :disco:

Not the contact email being a YAHOO ADDRESS! :D

Seems like she had a totally normal one at the election count last night :D

Oh wow. Was she as evil as ever there?

196 votes though. That's astonishingly bad.

It's arguably the most socially liberal seat in the country. She knew that - she just wanted the platform against Denyer, I figure.

She was strangely muted for the most part. Tried to make every question apply to her one issue, with the exception of one on Palestine I believe, where she actually admitted she had nothing to say.

Did you tactically vote?
No, well I don't think so. I voted Green, but everything I googled and researched said it was between Labour and Green my side. I wanted to vote Green anyway. But turns out Labour came third after Reform, which I'm fuming about.

A lot of islanders my side are pissed off that the polls said labour was in by a landslide and that wasn't the case at all.

Though his Gaza stuff is fine, his other opinions are AWFUL. Particularly around women and gays.
Just want to correct this, I was mixing him up with the independent that stood against Shabana Mahmood, who was on an episode of the News Agents podcast. I have no idea about any of the views of Iqbal.

The country is pretty much still remarkably devoid of Lab/LD marginals. There’s only eight seats in the country where they are first and second place, and only one where the majority is less than 10%.

I’m sure you could plot the same graph with proximity to a GAIL’S! It doesn’t mean their baked goods prevent Racism!

Yet more evidence that DRIVERS are EVIL

I mean, this is just the surprising (?) revelation that non-major metropolitan areas have shit public transport (and generally much less investment), no?

I know Debbonaire has had past health problems. I did think her body language in her concession speech seemed a bit strange. Not to make excuses for her, but I wonder if she just wasn't feeling well? It's a long night for anybody, let alone somebody who may not be in the best of health.

Obviously no excuse for apparently not clapping for Denyer though. That just seems a bit petty.

The Tories got over 50% of the vote in just ONE seat (Harrow East).
