United Kingdom 2025 entry (1 Viewer)

Obviously pure speculation here but Elliot James Raey appears to be a modern day JIMMY RAY. No thanks! :zombie:

Remember Monday would be more to my taste, but hard to imagine a girl group working. I suppose when the Netherlands sent their Wilson Phillips tribute a few years ago they got a good jury score at least.

Do we think there's even the slightest chance of last year being reprised and the UK entrant for 2025 getting announced tonight at the Strictly final?

Perhaps, if it's Ruth Jones as Nessa.

I'm not counting the possibility out.

Some Twitter eurofan claims to know who it is..

Sounds intriguing but there’s literally no other tweets about it.

Same Twitter fan was absolutely adamant until the last moment that it was Rina two years ago.

Anyway this is supposedly referring to Bananarama with Siobhan which is obviously bollocks for many reasons.

Oh I assumed it was something to do with Scott Fitzgerald :D

Are the BBC really going back to selecting acts FORTY YEARS past their peak?

It didn't really work with Engelbert or Bonnie, so why would they return to this sort of thing?

Pissing myself at the most obvious bait tweet in years managing to set some of you off :D

Although personally I think "1988 throwback" is a blazingly obvious clue that we're about to draft that chubby slag GLENN MEDEIROS :disco:

That said I would also accept Banasrama managing to find ways to croak out a middle C Mae Muller could only have dreamed of.

In terms of other 1988 births it could be Rylan. It's about time someone did Slavko - Space PROPERLY

Have we considered that the 1988 thing may mean that it’s Rick Astley? Now, I will acknowledge that his biggest song was number one in 1987, but other than that it fits perfectly!

Oh it's OBVIOUS baity nonsense of the type we get every year that no one gives an INCH of credence to, but it's ALL A BIT OF FUN in a completely dead zone for news.

To be fair, if we're going to send such an act we could do a lot worse than a noble failure with something like this.

Oh we could do a lot worse in terms of song quality than anything Bananarama did (though obviously not with points/ performance etc.) but I never really "got" Feel The Love. This was much better from last year:

I just stumbled on the OGAE Facebook thread (I rarely do FB but my phone is dead so using it for Messenger) and the responses there are hilarious.

"I'm thinking CELINE? AM I being too hopeful?" :D
