This reminds me of the first covid Easter where the churches remained closed for the public and we were all asked to stay at home. The ridiculousness of me mom and dad holding our candles all dressed up in our roof terrace but with our slippers instead of shoes, in complete darkness and desolation (the village was mostly empty cause city people were not allowed to travel out of their cities), waiting for the time to go 00:00 so that we can at least see the churches shooting the fireworks from afar or catch the resurrection chanting from their loudspeakers among the strong winds. Obviously we didn't bother to clap for anyone either during the clapping happenings.I didn’t clap for NHS heroes as it felt totally pointless doing it with no neighbours other than whatever wildlife lurked about in the grounds in my Scottish abode.
