Wishing you a very happy 955th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings

I was held up in traffic due to the fog, so missed most the action. I turned up late evening to see the mutilation of Harold Godwinson.

I was headed down there until I realised that I’d forgotten to do my Friday Big Shop and the BOGOF on cabbages was ending and I didn’t want to miss out

Sounds like I dodged a bullet though. Or an arrow.

I actually went down to watch for a bit. Sadly the 20-seater horse we’d hired died of exhaustion on ye A282 on the way back, so I can’t really say I enjoyed it all that much.

God ye A282 was back to back, there was a horse and cart pile-up on junction 12, supposedly when a farmer had stopped to admire a passing wench

I was out on the town with the Venerable Bede. We spent the entire evening trying to avoid the result because we were planning to watch the highlights when we got in.
