Your Top 10 of... 1985 (1 Viewer)

I was 12 and was starting to look beyond the charts...Janice Long had taken over the evening show on Radio 1 from David Jensen and I found her more listenable. My parents were beginning to despair of this pop music carry-on especially The Cure and The Smiths who were considered unlistenable and a bad influence respectively. :D

The Art Of Noise they found utterly bewildering.

Oh bollocks - Propaganda's 'Duel' is 1985 and that's a masterpiece. As is 'P Machinery'. Arse. Might have to rejig and do a 20 cos I keep thinking of great records from 85.

Duel is stunning.

I had a double pack 7" and a 12". The versions on the 12" were literally about 30 seconds longer but it came with a bonus Dr Mabuse 12". That paper round money was well spent that summer.

I just did some digging and there are a few corkers missing, but not many that would trouble my Ten.

Oh yes the easily forgotten mid 90s solo career of Ali Campbell.

File under Suggs.

File under Suggs.

Ah, but Suggs gave us one of the greatest television moments of all time...Chris Eubank having to say - "at Number Six, it's 'Cecelia' by Suggs".

God I detest UB40's version of Can't Help Falling In Love
