RuPaul’s search for the UK’s next Drag Race superstar continues. The queens are settling in, but the pressure is on as their dance and co-ordination skills are given a high-energy workout in Dragoton, their first complex dance challenge.

Two-time Strictly champion Oti Mabuse puts the queens through their paces for the dance performance. Later, Oti joins Michelle Visage and Alan Carr on the judging panel to see how the queens fare and help Ru deliberate the fate of yet another queen.

Ahead of episode 2, let's see how instagram followers have changed since week one:

187k Charity Kase (+30k)
165k Veronica Green (+2k)
106k Victoria Scone (+42.1k)
74.1k Ella Vaday (+21.1k)
62.5k Krystal Versace (+28.8k)
49.8k River Medway (+29.2k)
49.7k Choriza May (+26.4k)
47.2k Anubis (+13.1k)
45k Scarlett Harlett (+21.9k)
32.6k Vanity Milan (+12k)
32.3k Kitty Scott-Claus (+11.3k)
29.6k Elektra Fence (+10.7k)

I wonder still no Brit Crew? This can't have been filmed during the rule of 6 times because there's obviously more than 6 of them in the room!

Some of those runways were...CRUNCHY.
I honestly thought the judges might sit in complete silence for whatever Elektra Fence was wearing...and the comments they did manage to make weren't far off :D Alan Carr's "Why have you come here dressed as a wizard" critique was :D

LOVE Choriza May, albeit more as a confessional queen than for her drag. She has BEAUTIFUL EYES. She's the sort of grindr meet that you are initially underwhelmed by when the door opens, but end up spending the ENTIRE AFTERNOON in bed with :disco:
Quite into the overexcited Stacey Solomon queen too.

River Medway is fun, but way too undercooked as a drag queen to compete at this point.

I couldn’t wait for the challenge to be over. What a mess.

Also, Michelle being really hateful again, I can’t stand her anymore.

Charity Kase’s orange gown and headpeace were impeccable, can’t believe they had negative things to say about it.

From what we've seen of her so far, I do think Ella Va'Day may be one of the DULLEST queens I've seen cast on Drag Race.
Her drag is boring. Her confessionals are boring. As was signposted in the episode - she's conventionally attractive...in a BORING way (for my tastes).

WHERE IS THE FLAVOUR?

Obviously going to be around for a WHILE though, so I hope she PERKS UP a bit.

I will miss Elektra Fence though I did LOL at her trying to get some circle jerk of body woes going when they were getting dressed :D

I thought the challenge was a hot mess, to the extent that I'm not really sure who was best or worst, or why. And I don't think anyone really excelled on the runway either. Elektra was clearly awful though.

Based on looks Ella should’ve been in the bottom in both episodes.
This week I thought the looks were a whole lot of varying degrees of meh, but in no way would I put her bottom three last week.

After a poor hometown look and then two lookalike looks, I hope Kitty has got more to offer the runway.

I thought the episode as a whole was terrible after a promising premier.

The challenge was awful but the ball ladies had a lot more to work with compared to the others. I thought all the yummy mummy group was awful but Charity was the best of the worst.

For such a simple runway prompt they really couldn’t get a red carpet look to save their lives.

How can so many drag queens fuck up a theme as essential as Red Carpet? It's the bread and butter of ANY drag queen.

VERONICA SHOULD HAVE WON.

Veronica, Choriza and Krystal are my faves I think.

But yes a messy challenge and it’s not encouraging that so many FLOPPED what should have been a relatively easy runway. The absolute NERVE of them to critique Charity’s outfit compared to some of the PIG SHIT that we saw!

With Scone looking likely to be off next week and the judges utterly HATING Charity does Krystal have ANY competition at this point?

I’ve given Ella a pass mainly because I REALLY want to fuck him, but there’s something INTRINSICALLY BASIC about him.

I wonder still no Brit Crew? This can't have been filmed during the rule of 6 times because there's obviously more than 6 of them in the room!
It was filmed during full lockdown. The queens were a bubble.

3. The demented Alex Forrest makeup on the runway :argh:

:D

Veronica looked atrocious, everything from the neck up was like a rotting corpse, and no one is telling me that yellow dress looked good on her. Maybe on someone, anyone. But not her. The utter gall of saying the outfit was "wearing Charity" when nothing could be truer of Veronica's. She's an entertaining MESS I'll give her that, so not hating her existence but how long can they keep pretending she isn't shit.

Speaking of Charity, this is getting upsetting now and she must be bewildered by all this. She looked BEAUTIFUL, and the sheer effort again! But no, let's praise about four off the rack George at Asda gowns instead :manson: This feels like a Joe Black situation where it feels deathly apparent the judges HATE her. WHY? Because there's a bit of confidence? Ugh. Praying it's a red herring and she makes it far, because much like Utica, I'm guessing looks are her main strength so to be ripping into that feels horribly misjudged and unpleasant.

The challenge was a mess too, there's way too many left to fairly judge things like that, it all blended into one, but to be fair to Krystal she seemed to make a bigger effort to stand out. That "Krystal gets an exclusive reading of the queens" at the start was a bit weird - all it served to do was highlight Krystal not being very witty. Unless that was the point, to test her.

I won't miss Elektra (think she won that lip sync though..) but it could have been any number of pairings for bottom 2 - e.g ELLA who has given nothing, nothing at all.

Scarlett is coming across really well, if a bit basic, but my god I thought she was going to SNAP IN HALF doing the choreo.

Oti :disco: (except not for the dancing - of which she probably had minimal involvement in reality -because if so many queens aren't getting it, maybe there's a reason for that? Just what are we expecting from them here in what is probably a small window of time)

I didn’t really like Charity’s first episode looks (I mean they were really well done, but not my cup of tea) but this one I just don’t understand how the judges didn’t love.

They’re trying to set up a Charity vs Krystal fight aren’t they.

The one with the artistry that is constantly under-rewarded and the inexperienced reality TV type who gets showered in prizes for showing up.

I can’t stand Krystal but I actually feel a bit sorry for her because they clearly have no intention of her winning the thing - this reeks of setting her up to be a hate figure which seems in pretty bad taste considering her age and what Sister Sister was put through last year.

Elektra Fence's futile frantic and DESPERATE discombobulating of herself in the lipsync when Vanity Milan had already won it about 30 seconds in was quite something to watch.

At least she's got something people will remember her for eh?

Awful episode. I can’t with this fucking show. That mini challenge was such a transparent attempt to create drama. I mean:
  1. There was absolutely no point of having it. It had no winner and no advantage for the winner.
  2. Ru puts someone on the spot, asks them to be shady and then questions them by going over each choice and asking for an explanation.
  3. Let’s bring up some of the queens’ insecurities and have them sob about them for content.
:manson::manson::manson:

I wonder if this is what Willam was banging on about people being injured for. I don’t think Victoria’s injury has anything to do with being “rushed”, albeit there might be an argument that she had to come back too quickly for “day 2”.

The fact no one had the choreography down seems to indicate they had hours to learn it. I read a mild spoiler that.

The show begins to unravel from episode 2 and it only gets WORSE from then on
