This live performance is so dramatic. A random couple just got engaged and Adele cackled at it. I Drink Wine sounded fine but not that exciting
 
Hold On is definitely meant to be the big moment of the album, but it was more of a 9 for me.
 
Oprah's interviews seem a little invasive. She asked her what her biggest childhood trauma is?
 
Oprah was so excited to say Adele's new boyfriend makes it "easy on her" :D
 
Love is a Game is the best of the new songs for me. Based on tonight, this album is going to appease her fans but doesn’t do much new

This whole campaign bores me to tears.

Also, I'm so bored of her personality. The walking jellied eels cockney persona doesn't fit alongside being an LA wellness queen.

For someone who was supposed to be an "artist" compared to the other turn-of-the-decade big pop girls, she has given us zero growth. Even negative growth. She's in recession.

Oh stop trolling! It is her niche and she is good at it. The only thing in recession here sweetheart is you and your out of touch opinions. 💋
 
I wasn’t a fan of what I heard of the new tracks. It all sounds very bland and safe, even by Adele’s standards

Anybody’s criticisms matters not a jot though, she’s a runaway train at this point. She will sell billions regardless.
 
Fair enough if you don’t like the music, BUT why have a go at her personality as she has not conformed to the Hollywood aesthetic. Good for her in not turning in to yet another bland Stepford wife. Just because she has lost weight doesn’t mean she needs to have no personality!
 
I have to agree with Louf. I read a commentary on her on the other place that really hit the nail on the head, that basically said she was an artist who should have had a specific type of career (Mercury nominations every few years, the occasional minor hit) and the totally freak occurrence of Someone Like You and 21 turning her into a global superstar with immediate legend status carried her off-course artistically.

I don't think she's hungry for it anymore. at all. before 25 came out she scrapped an entire album of material that wasn't hitting the mark. 25 itself had a few classics but felt inessential as a whole. I just don't think she has any need to make music now, and maybe you can hear that. you almost always can when an artist creates purely because it's time and the label demands it.
 
As I said I don’t CARE for his opinions on her music. We clearly don’t see eye to eye on that, but we are all allowed an opinion. To say that her “jellied eels cockney persona” doesn’t fit well with her new look doesn’t sit well with me as WHY THE FUCK SHOULD SHE CONFORM?

I don’t understand the criticisms of her personality myself, but then I don’t pay too much attention to her. I’m only ever interested in the music.

It’s the downside of being mega famous. People will always want to have an opinion. She won’t be able to please everyone.

If there’s one thing I do like about her is that regardless of how she’s depicted or portrayed or positioned or defined, whether it’s her or her label or her publicist or the media at large, she really doesn’t seem to give a fuck. Partly her authenticity and partly because, why should she? She has nothing left to prove.
 
Wow, why so pressed because I said I didn't care for the persona? This is what I must look like over Mariah Carey. Except it Mariah's case, how can you not stan that personality?

I am in no way an Adele stan in the way you are with Mariah. I do much prefer Adele’s personality though in that she hasn’t forgotten her roots, and isn’t so far up her own arse that her weave is flossing her veneers. It read to me that now she has a “hollywood makeover” that she should tone down her personality to fit in. If that is what you meant it is blatant unnecessary categorisation. Just because she has chosen to lose weight and is in the music industry does she now need to tone her personality down and become someone else?

I keep seeing clips of her concert that looks visually stunning, but nothing sounds any different to things she has already released? Is this album going to be entirely pointless?

I agree that it is good her personality hasn't changed much over the years. Her music however could do with some progression.
 
I mean the fact she’ll be earning millions from writing/singing about her divorce whilst the best I’d get is a few care reacts on Moopy makes me dislike her.
 
I guess she's well past the stage where most of her demographic are people who don't like music that much, or care about progression or artistic growth.

Ultimately, I think I'm probably content for her to plough this furrow as long as it's done well (I've not heard the interview or new tracks yet), and while she only releases an album twice a decade.
 
This girl is IN HER PRIME. She is not hit chasing. She doesn’t have to. MARIAH COULD NEVER.

...she's released two albums in that time. Mariah sustained her imperial era across five (5) largely brilliant records and... how many number one singles? 15?

they are not comparable as artistes, as icons, as anything, so my point is don't try and make it HAPPEN!
