It’s escalating, but it’s not escalating fast enough

They’ll no doubt shrug their shoulders until we get to October and he’s ten points down and they’ll all put out apologetic, passive aggressive statements that he should have stepped down “but people should still vote for him anyway”

Dems gonna dem

A side thing is how my twitter for you page has really went insane over this. To the point I'm suspicious of external involvement.

People are expressing themselves with such anger that I don't remember properly seeing before, over a conversation that shouldn't be that controversial. First one on my feed at the moment:

But it's been literally half of my feed this past week and it feels really off. I know Russia and China aim to destabilise by amplifying and fuelling social media discord but this is the first time I feel like I've been hammered with it.

He's handing Trump the win.
Pretty much BUT if he did step down, Trump would win anyway because we won’t rally behind a new name this close to election time and God knows people hate Harris so they won’t give it to her

I would vote for an inanimate object over Trump also. Their votes are not the issue. It’s the votes of the 30m Americans who haven’t made their mind up.

I do think a lot of people are looking for a reason to not vote for Trump but right now Biden’s dementia is the one reason so many will reluctantly vote for bim

Im not surprised Harris fares better. Imagine what they could do with a big campaign around the DNC bringing in fresh blood like Newsom or Whitmer and loads of momentum, Obama style.

I feel like, on balance, as a black woman not in the grip of senile dementia, Harris will hopefully motivate at least as many voters as she repels.

Maybe I’m clinging to hope, but I do feel like in 2016 a vote for Trump was a sort of punt on something a bit different, versus an extremely establishment candidate.

This time, everyone knows what they’ll be getting. I struggle to imagine that many people being on the fence between that and the Dem offering, even if it is Biden.

Though I will of course be voting for the corpse of Joe Biden if it comes to that

Harris currently 5/1 odds to be the next US President versus 8/1 for Biden. (Trump pretty much evens :( )

That's the other thing, Starmer is being asked about it at his press conference. All the leaders are going to get it, and it's hugely embarrassing
