Katy Perry - 143 (Worst Rated Album EVER by a female artist)

Can Katy turn things around and snatch a hit?

  • yes, unconditionally

  • sure, it's never really over

  • maybe, by the grace of god

  • potentially, she's a dark horse

  • probably not (self-inflicted)

  • no, now she's just a ghost

Doja Cat was signed to his record label shortly before the Kesha case blew up, so while she has been criticised for working with him, she's also got an 'excuse' so to speak, whereas Katy - who stopped working with him after the allegations went public, and has no contractual ties to him - does not.

She's also said she wouldn't work with him again.

Doja was very vocal about being tied to him and not wanting to be, and also about him taking production credits on songs he didn't work on. he hasn't really worked with anyone big other than Nicki Minaj, who's trash anyway, and Kim Petras who nobody really cares about.

this is not a "let's pile on Katy Perry!" thing, it's genuine disappointment and disgust that she worked with him again.

Thanks for the clarification - I wasn't aware of the full story.

oh, he's pissed off a lot of pop girlies

Roar, Dark Horse, Bon Appetit and Chained to the Rhythm are her only good songs

She has no quality control.
JUSTICE for SWISH SWISH and HOT AND COLD!

Also I Kissed A Girl is clearly a CLASSIC

It's astonishing how this entire campaign goes from one joyless, flat and out-of-touch moment to the next. Mediocre lead single aside, they made the choice to head out to sea on a damaged ship (hi Dr. Luke), didn't think people were going to pay attention and now every course correction looks like a desperate maneuver.

Brat should be studied for marketing mastery for years to come, and so should this but for its disastrous handling from everyone involved.

Who did Dr Luke FUCK to make RCA such cunts in insisting their artists use him in some kind of sleazy backhander deal?

Record labels really are FUCKING AWFUL.

Yeah, he has clearly been collecting enough exec's bones and leveraged them successfully. I'm honestly not sure I want to know about all the skeletons in their closets. :zombie:

I mean he has the clout for sure. I mean his list of songs he’s attached to is pretty astounding.

I've always theorized he did everything he could to work with T.Swift when given a chance, it's very telling she did a whole album's worth with Max Martin but not him though I guess that by the time 1989 was released, Max had dissociated from him.

Doja Cat has called him out several times stating she knew she needed him "for the hits" and that's it.
