Drag Race UK: Season 6

Tbh everyone after season 2 and this season is a WHO'S WHO. The only stand outs for me is Crystal and the twink that was like the Artful Dodger meets Macaulay Culkin that RuPaul psychologically tortured by progressing through the competition beyond their depth.

La Voix was fantastic, but the funniest element of this episode for me by far was Dita’s face of thunder every time one of the queens made a joke about her. :D

I thought it was a good episode with La Voix destroying everyone.

I didn't find Marmalade's jokes too mean at all, just a bit overly-rehearsed. But that's Marmalade. Michelle was hard work this episode.

They're definitely a lot kinder with the roasts and laughter/production than they used to be. Ru makes sure everyone gets at least a few laughs which is kind.

I think Kyran will win based on her being different than most of the other winners, but I'd be very happy with La Voix.

La Voix not winning would be silly, really. She feels like a Chad Michaels/Sasha Colby figure who’s already so much more fully formed than her competitors that she’s closer to being one of RuPaul’s peers.

Also Kyran would probably be better served by an AllStars run in a couple of years time. She’s young enough that a couple of years to grow and a bigger budget could potentially take her to some really exciting places. La Voix already feels like she’s fully baked.

Agree with that. Sad to see Lill go but I do think Rileasa is a worthy finalist and yes they all hard badges but Lill’s was a kinda by default group win rather individual

I was really hoping for a double win.
Also anyone else get the feeling La Voix might be Rupauls replacement at some point in the future ?

Possibly.

But denying her the win and all those plaudits about the world being her oyster, she could present anything etc etc definitely felt to me like Kyran getting the win because she needed it more, rather than deserved it.

I like Kyran. But at the moment at least I'm left with a slightly bitter taste from the finale.

CALLED IT

(Yeah they really did not make that feel like it was leading up to a Kyran win in how the last couple of episodes went, though it felt quite obvious from the off - and Ru does love to reward the future rather than queens who don't really feel like they 'need' it so much.)

I’m really growing tired of RuPaul ruining this show with her stunts

And another example of Ru awarding the win to the queen who did better straight out of the gate, despite what happened later in the season. Almost as if his mind was made up from the first couple of episodes.

I think I'll still say my second favourite season of DR UK.

And so pissed that we have to endure another UK v The World when we have more than enough queens to fill a fantastic UK All Stars season. I'd happily see at least half of this lot back on a UK All Stars, rather than frittered away on Canada vs The World S4.

I'm sick of how low-rent the vs the World seasons feel, and they've kind of eaten tomorrow's packed lunch for pudding by taking so many of the queens that would have made for a great UK All Stars season already.

Kyran started the season strong but La Voix was right up there just missing out on the wins. The second half of the season was all La Voix so this ending doesn't feel right.

I read similar stuff online, and I could totally see it. If Rupaul ever releases her grip…

Oh I'm quite happy for Kyran. Aside from last week, which wasn't that bad, she never had an off week, and she really surpassed all my expectations in snatch game, acting etc.

La Voix of course is fabulous and will be fine.

It was a great season and after 3 and 4 it really does feel like DRUK is back on track.

I don’t know what Kyran was thinking with that final look. But then La Voix’s looks weren’t her forte. That fucking red wig :zombie:

I thought Kyran was a bit overrated in Snatch Game to be honest and probably should have known the writing was on the wall when it was a joint win.

I mean, they were good, and it was fun impression, but I must have been watching something completely different to this “unique spin” on Elvis they brought…

They have really relied pretty heavily on the chewing paper clip for weeks too.

Ugh. I called it during the show- it felt like they were never going to give it to the older, traditional drag queen.

I thought Kyran was alright enough, but La Voix has been SO much better overall and really did deserve it. The UK just never seems to get the result right.

It’s always been RUPAUL’S drag race, and it’s always been the winner she wants for better or worse.

What really crack me up about La Voix, especially with that carefully selected picture of 1 year old her from the early days of film, is that she so readily plays the old queen card when it suits her, but then will sit there with a straight face pretending to be 42. She’s apparently the face of OLD SCHOOL drag, and grew up in an era when it wasn’t cool, whilst also claiming she is the same age as WILLAM. Whose drag on her season 12 years ago still feels decades more modern than what La Voix is serving NOW!

What a fantastic series this was - I have a very low tolerance for bad drag race, but this casting was perfect. In the final six episode, RuPaul said that this was a very charming group and I think that’s a great way to describe why this series was so successful.

Capped off of course with a magical final group song - MELODI NUMMER ÅTTA - why can’t we save these for Eurovision?

Just in case y'all needed more validation that Marmalade was the best queen, Nina Bonina Brown says so.
