What Are You Watching? 2025 (1 Viewer)

Has anyone given the James Norton drama Playing Nice on ITV a go yet? Was thinking of giving it a go later, but I see that the Guardian absolutely savaged it. But I've seen quite a few people in turn savage that review.

Did you ever watch this? What did you think?

I’ve just read has broken records by becoming ITVX's best-ever drama launch. Don’t know if that means anything to be honest.

Out There starring MARTIN CLUNES as a Welsh fella is really good so far. Just on episode 3.

I've seen the opening two episodes of Out There and I'm definitely preferring it to Playing Nice.

Started the Lockerbie series last night. Grim viewing.

Yes as you would expect the opening episode was especially hard going. I have one episode left but I haven't felt as involved as I hoped.

Wrapped up What We Do in the Shadows. Very good last season, though the finale was a little more low key than I expected.

At this moment I am watching former Nancy Rachel Tucker in Call the Midwife. It does feel as though she is playing quite big.

Remembering those in the cheap seats, like a true West End pro :disco:

I've finally started Rivals and though it wasn't as instant as I hoped, following ep 3 I'm all in. Lovely to see Poldark's arse too.

Was The Castaways with Sheridan Smith not on Amazon or something a while back? 🤔

I decided to catch up with QI as I haven't seen it for a few weeks, only to discover that BLOODY L*LU was on the Christmas special

Looks like ITV are looking for a Mr Bates style huge hit again

He looks like the Doctor who came after him (I don’t know how many regenerations we’re talking about as I don’t watch it). But anyway - HIM.

Watched two episodes of Playing Nice and got bored. Not for me i'm afraid! I think I was just interested because James Norton was in it (as others probs were)

Onto the fourth episode of Out There and this is much better but also not quite as great as people have been saying. But i'm sticking with this one

Sounds like you have attention span of a GNAT.

Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Season 10 (8 episodes).

Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Season 11 (episode 1).

God I love watching the two women cutting them all from the squad, and how wonky and ruthlessly transparent reality tv from 10 years ago truly was. It's almost Drop Dead Gorgeous meets The Handmaid's Tale.

Loving St Denis Medical. No idea if it’s showing/streaming anywhere legally though sorry. (Medical mocumentary comedy)

I've just finished Season 1 of The Recruit and I have to say it was one of the most pleasant surprises of recent years. I love politics and espionage but it has to be intelligent; this struck me as more like popcorn so I wasn't expecting anything interesting, maybe just easy background nonsense. But it was fun, quirky, well written (the story is batshit but how they tell it is good), great cast, just felt very fresh and original.

Again, sort of glad I waited because Season 2 is now out and I can dive straight into it...

I never got around to watching Am I Being Unreasonable series one, but over the last few days have watched both series now, and I feel bad for sleeping on it.

I actually thought the second series was stronger, although that maybe due to feeling like I didn't really know what was going on for most of the first, despite enjoying it.

But the second series had a few absolute highlights for me - the Danny Dyer role play, Kerry and Kurtan cameos, and Denise Black particularly.

Invisible Boys

New Australian 10 part series that kicks off with a bit of cottaging (one for our @Sheena there). Episodes are only half an hour and three episodes in, so far so good.

Hang on, who was Black playing?

Paradise on Disney+. I started watching so I didn't have to try and avoid the spoilering of the much talked about episode one BIG TWIST. It feels like one of those shows that could go off the rails in future seasons but for now I am entertained.

The endless trailers for A Thousand Blows on Disney+ didn't put me off and I am especially enjoying Princess Anne pulling the strings as an East End gang leader.

The first episode of Dope Girls, which certainly has shades of Peaky Blinders, was entertaining and very striking visually. Seemed an unusual choice for Saturday night though.
