New Music Fridays 2025

The Spotify algorithm has been pushing the very good (and somewhat Metric-esque) previous Sunflower Bean Champagne Taste pretty hard, and I like the new one too:

No longer Glume, no longer on Italians Do It Better, new album out this week. Imaginary Friend jumped out as the brightest, poppiest thing on there:

Two tracks from the Étienne de Crécy album:

I've been rubbish recently but here's a little catch up -

2 for 2 in new singles. This is nice

This is a gorgeous collab

Released a couple months early but this could be a good afternoon in the garden listen

No idea who he is but I like this pop-version-of-War On Drugs track (kinda like James Arthur is doing but without the annoying voice)

I really like Joesef, he reminds me of Troye Sivan before he became really annoying and gimmicky

I really like that Soda Blonde one.

The two new Joesef songs are solid but not quite hitting like the best material from the debut yet.

Another good one from Joy Crookes, a bit more boppy this time:

First new song from Charlotte OC in ages:

I got a bit bored of The Horrors' album but it ends on a bright note:

This one from the Elton and Brandi album stood out to me as being quite lovely. It is very much a Brandi song:

A blast from the past. I really like this, I guess it isn't so far away from Empire of the Sun:

The new Aly and AJ is solid but not as good as What It Feels Like:

This is a cute fun bop:

Glorious big shiny eighties pop with a harder edge:

Another pretty good 5SOS solo effort:

Former Pipette Gwenno in nostalgic mood:

Reactions: GNL
Franck Roger is a producer/DJ I have been following on radar after discovering a couple of nice deep house / nu disco tunes. This new one is more downtempo and funky but it's really good
