    Kylie - Tension (Album XVI)

I'm not here for the rewriting of the Tension era as anything less than a triumph. It gave us late career bests in the form of Padam Padam, Hold On To Now, Tension, Somebody To Love, Story (especially the incredible extended mix). And Kylie has been utterly radiant and charming throughout.

    The Zone of Interest

Sandra Hüller really served us the two most stressful films of the last year. This was very powerful, and as good as Anatomy of a Fall, but in a very different way.

Ariana Grande - yes, and? / Eternal Sunshine (out now)

We Can't Be Friends (Wait for Your Love) is lovely.

Justin Timberlake - Everything I Thought It Was (6th Album) + Selfish (1st Single)

I think I'm taking Fuckin' Up The Disco and Selfish... and running.

    Kacey Musgraves - Deeper Well

I didn't expect that this would be the first album of 2024 to completely hook me in. I am obsessed with Cardinal, Too Good to be True, Lonely Millionnaire, Heaven Is, The Architect...

    All Of Us Strangers

This was a lot to digest. - The sterility of the new London tower block. A "perfect-looking" façade which masks gay misery and loneliness. Writ large, this is no different than gays' body fascism or need to beautify life. It all looks "successful" and aspirational to the outside...

Ariana Grande - yes, and? / Eternal Sunshine (out now)

Maybe I just love Mariah being in her Fly Away / Butterfly Reprise vocal bag, ad-libbing the fuck over everything and saying it with her chest (voice), but this vocal makeover has finally elevated what was a pleasant "put in on in the background" bop to where I needed it to be. The next MC album...

Ariana Grande - yes, and? / Eternal Sunshine (out now)

Queen came through and said "remember how I used to belt on my remixes? Let me remind you" :disco:

Beyoncé - act ii: COWBOY CARTER

I am enjoying Texas Hold 'Em a lot, but why is there part of me that is pining for Bey's That Don't Impress Me Much / Man! I Feel Like A Woman? With some Afrobeat and trap vocals, obviously.

Beyoncé - act ii: COWBOY CARTER

Well this thread escalated fast. I'm can't wait for Stefani Joanne to announce her new opus - Moopy is always very balanced about her too. :basil:

Beyoncé - act ii: COWBOY CARTER

I really like Texas Hold 'Em. It's going to be hard to top Renaissance, because the queers in her team were really in their bag and served the full fantasy. It seems that the theme is the reclaiming of black-originating genres, meaning Act III is probably rock / metal :disco: Gags is probably...

    Disco vs Tension (2024 version)

Tension is miles better. Say Something and Real Groove are the only two songs I kept from Disco (but they are utterly incredible). Padam is iconic; I am obsessed with the extended mix of Story; Hold Onto Now, Vegas High and Somebody to Love are late-career highs. Magic vs Padam Padam Miss a...

    Mariah's 16th studio album

I literally can't remember what it's like to get new Mariah music, it's been that long. I don't think I'll believe it until it drops. But WTF does 3rd Emancipation mean? When was the second one? Or do we class Butterfly / the divorce as Emancipation #1? We ain't getting a third Imperial era...
