Don't know why I'm so cut up about this but just got genuinely teary over one of the Hairy Bikers dying.



I guess its that he seemed like a genuinely wholesome man with such a strong bond with his mate. Watching the special they did at Christmas I assumed he was on the road to recovery and going to be around a while longer.

Oh no. I LOVE The Hairy Bikers but remember seeing him on tv at the back end of last year on Saturday Kitchen thinking he looked terrible. He must have known it was coming yet decided to come back for one last hurrah. So sad. :(
 
I watched an episode of The Hairy Bikers just a few days ago (obviously filmed post treatment). He looked gaunt but I assumed since they had started refilming, that he was on the mend.

My Mum loved him too. He seemed like a thoroughly decent fellow.
 
:( He was really quite lovely. I remember seeing his house on Through The Keyhole as he lived in a former seaside guest house with his own pub.

I also thought that 💔 May Dave rest in peace, bless his family and Si too 💭 thanks to them both, the Hairy Bikers and kind souls.
 
Don't read Si King's post if you're feeling fragile. Made me cry a bit. Beautifully written but just so sad.
 
I'm really quite cut up about this too, largely because I always found great comfort in watching the Hairy Bikers and Dave was probably my fave of the two. :(

If ever I'm thinking of examples when describing deep, platonic love - this was honestly one of the most obvious examples to come to mind. Si must be really going through a hell of a tough time.
 
Really sad about this, it was one of the ones where I just didn't have a clue how the treatment was going, unlike Sarah Harding where you were just waiting for the day or some kind of miracle really. Seemed such a lovely guy, I didn't watch them extensively but I loved their tour around Thailand. :(
 
The response to his death has made me quite emosh.

I always just assumed I'd be picking hairs out of my mouth after anything they'd cooked, so I've never watched an ep and now feel like I've missed out
