I declare it to be quietly something of a MODERN CLASSIC and his BEST SINCE THE FINAL FANTASY YEARS
 
I find Danny to be such an interesting psychological case study in Melfest terms. All that talk about being in it to win it this year during the build up, and then as soon as he got the mildest criticism it's like he totally checked out of the whole thing. You could tell he was completely over it by the finals perf.
 
As a non-competitive entry, I do find it rather enjoyable and loads better than his last attempt, and it will always be funny that someone somewhere came up with the idea of the prop falling over and thought it was a good staging idea.

Increasingly convinced it is this Sweden should have sent to Malmo. It’s just that much stronger a song than Unforgettable.
 
Easily the weakest song in the final (bar Jay Smith), I think it sounds dated and cheap :(
At least Dandi Dansa was fun and had a good staging!

The worst song (that wasn’t An***ka) was the one that won! :shock:
 
Something felt a bit off this time. He hesitated for the longest time to enter and I can see why, the song is enjoyable but that's pretty much it.
 
And it was great staging…for a national final. I’m not sure it will seem anything exceptional at Eurovision.

It's his second best for me.

In The Club was a cool and youthful force of nature.
Amazing was nebbish and twee and it was quite cruel that he was allowed to think it might topple Euphoria.
Dandi Dansa is one of the worst things to have ever happened.
 
My favourite of his MF entries. To be fair, I probably judged In The Club more harshly as it wasn't the sound of his first two albums.
 
Is the set collapse Danny's equivalent of Madonna unfurling a withered claw and screeching "But I'm a BAD GIRL ANYWAY!" ? :disco:

I’m not sure whether this is praise when it can literally be said about 20 other songs in the final.
 
I just say I have to disagree with our resident stroppy little maiden this morning - I've been finding Unforgettable really rather well engineered for a good passionate SHAKE OF THE BREASTS of a Berghain dementia / nervous breakdown montage lately (especially THAT postchorus :disco:)
 
Melodically, I like this. Production-wise, I struggle.

Also, put it into the same box as "Bigger Than The Universe" because lyrically it really is just an apple tree from "Danny is joining the religious cult that Anders Bagge created in 2022".
 
I think the thing I find quite accomplished about this is how bulletproof the song underneath the production is. It feels like it could be redone in any number of styles (I'd personally love to hear it done the way 07 Danny would have done it, for one) and still be just as insidiously good.
