album five Deeper Well out March 15th, with the single of the same name coming soon. trailer

looks stunning, sounds great from that tiny clip, I'm 100% ready

Her last album was a miss but I’m very ready for this (based on the last 3 seconds of that clip)

I enjoyed the last album quite a bit! Cherry Blossom is incredible. but she can do better.

song is out in 4 hours

How nice to not have to wait much at all

LOVED Cherry Blossom.

Also, I love her voice. I know people say it sounds nondescript, but I also think it has that really nice buttery quality to it.

I like it and the lyrics hit a little closer to home than I expected with some stuff with friends going on in my life

With how big I Remember Everything has been, and the kind of music that’s doing well right now, I think she could properly blow up

I like that a lot, feels like it is drawing on early Kacey but still with a bit of the wider Golden Hour feel.

I fucking love this. a great comeback song and the video is just gorgeous.

the lyric about smoking weed is funny to me because the video looks like something she imagined while high

I've been loving this song and spending quite a bit of time with her back cat too. star-crossed had its moments too but Golden Hour remains the one.

anyway new song Too Good to Be True (which she iconically describes as "a song about a relationship too good to be true") out friday!

Cardinal is the best thing here, absolutely glorious. The bittersweet Moving Out is very good too and Lonely Millionaire has a nice change up in sound.

It is all lovely sounding though some songs feel they could be fleshed out a bit. They seem to be pushing The Architect which might be a bit too cutesy on initial listening.

Cardinal did give me the impression it might lean into that dramatic 60s/70s folksy sound - it doesn't - but it's a great album. Her voice is gorgeous as always, and after a few listens it grows and grows.

I've only heard cardinal and I found it a bit boring. love both singles though and excited to dive in

wow the run of songs from Moving Out, through Giver/Taker to Sway is stunning. Sway goes a bit late 90s, turn of the century new-agey/world music at the end and it's a slay.

The Architect is very cute. still listening but LOVING FIRST PLAY! also I snatched tickets to her Amsterdam show in may. :disco:

I didn't expect that this would be the first album of 2024 to completely hook me in. I am obsessed with Cardinal, Too Good to be True, Lonely Millionnaire, Heaven Is, The Architect...

Giver/Taker is fantastic and followed by Sway I’m obsessed

currently hooked on Moving Out, Anime Eyes and Jade Green. front to back it's her best album yet, if missing a skyscraper high/real breakout moment like Rainbow.

"Heart of the Woods" and in particular "Jade Green" are also stunning. I mean there isn't a bad song. But those 3 and the singles are the standouts. And I haven't even finished yet.

The nostalgic vibes I'm getting from "Lonely Millionaire" sounds like a Zero 7 featuring Tina Dico song from 2006. LOVE!

as well as making #3 UK, this opened in the US at #2, which with 97k is her best opening week, biggest overall week and highest peak in the US.

Deeper Well also entered the hot 100 at #79 this week, her first entry since Rainbow (which peaked at #98). overall the album is SO strong so I'm super happy she's being rewarded commercially.

TOP FIVE RIGHT NOW

01 Deeper Well
02 Moving Out
03 Jade Green
04 Anime Eyes
05 Heart of the Woods

why is she so talented. I'm obsessed. slap Aly & AJ on a melancholy women of the land remix of Woods STAT!

Justin Timberland releases an album called Man of the Woods, me (and all others with taste): disgusting and repugnant! deeply cynical! fraudulent treechopper!

Kacey releases a song about living a simple life in the woods: enlightened queen! reclusive angel! so connected to mother nature, an inspiration!!! :disco:

Had another listen - Deeper Well, Moving Out and Lonely Millionaire are the THREE for me. Majestic. Although Jade Green, Anime Eyes, Too Good To Be True, Dinner With Friends and Heart Of The Woods are all growing.

:disco:

I love Deeper Well but need to check out the full album. I shall do it this weekend!

It’s full of surprises. I just assumed it was another light and fluffy country pop album but nope, these songs get UNDER the skin.

yes it's incredibly infectious and for something so cohesive, every song also carves out its own identity.
