Watching the Sky documentary now. Poor old Mikey seems quite broken.

Louis Walsh clearly always was the vilest of queens.

Can we split this into a new thread, please?

I assumed the documentary was out already as I've seen a fair bit about it for most of January, but the amount of tweets about Walsh I've seen today (all sounding pretty horrific, some speculating that he was behind the outing threat) makes me think it must have been this weekend.

Have you seen it yet, @Star ?

I believe all three episodes were released today.

Louis really comes out of it remarkably poorly. You have to wonder if he's completely lacking in self awareness or simply doesn't care how he comes across.

Surely there's nothing to wonder? The X Factor proved that Louis Walsh has the least amount of self awareness as any other human being, ever.

Possibly both, I guess. I find it hard to think he's only 72 from the clips I've seen. He does look like he should be found on his own in the corner of a care home.

He didn't turn up to any of the premieres last week :(

I've not seen it yet, I don't have sky so need to find another way to watch it. If anyone knows how please let me know!

Louis does not come across well at all.

I do wonder how todays celebrities cope with fame given those in the 90's often say in these type of shows that the press often had a negative impact on them and they didn't have the comments on social media alongside the media to deal with.

I didn't realise this was on Sky, I really want to watch it :(

I liked Boyzone a lot, they were my favourite band until Westlife appeared <3

Wasn’t much of a Boyzone fan but enjoy a music documentary and I think this might have been the saddest of them all :(

It was so telling the reaction between Ronan and Stephen’s sister and Louis when shown the paper.

“He got the front page” :manson:

That and the casual cruelty towards Mikey, and the way it had obviously left him with pretty deep emotional scars to this day, were the parts that struck me the most too. You forget how young they all were.

Just watched the first episode, the rest can wait until tomorrow. But exactly the same thoughts as everyone else, I'm sure.

Only 1 episode in. Really feeling for Mikey, especially as in retrospect he was the one I'd go for the most now. Louis' first seconds of screen time really set the tone - even when the more familiar TV charisma mode was switched on, it's unrelentingly narcissistic, absolutely no empathy whatsoever.

This really was quite F**KED UP.
There's always been something really wrong about this guy.
He was almost giddy looking at that paper, completely ignoring the whole emotional turmoil Stephen went through.

He lives in the same stratosphere as tabloid journalists who’ve managed to convince themselves they’re doing nothing but a public service for us lesser mortals.

Except the “music mogul” always falls back to “if you don’t like it, don’t be famous”

“Normal career” by “entering the property business”? Or is it an existing multi-millionaire just investing their millions so they don’t have to work again?
Since when is buying and selling properties a "career"?
You can make money out of it, yes, but it's not a career. It's not even a job. Just a way to invest and grow your money.

I was actually surprised when Louis said he picked “melodies” and songs for Roman, which is an A&R role. How did he actually get his claim for fame as a manager because by all accounts, his associated artists don’t actually have a clue what he did for them.

That's "Just a way to invest and grow your money EVILLY"

EAT THE ORANGE

(Is he one of the tax dodging ones?)

I thought I read that Jason quit BECAUSE he didn’t approve of all the tax dodging? Though maybe that was just conjecture at the time…

Louis now

Yeah Keith, I think you “broke U2’s record” for number of times playing at that arena… probably because U2 moved on to playing stadiums?
