There’s something so nostalgic to me about music videos that are just the same 3-5 shots repeated over and over again to pad out the song length. :D

The singer is giving me 55 years old, but is actually 25. When was make up and hair styling first introduced to the Emerald Isles?

Genuinely wondered if it was Hazell Dean when this video popped up on the big screen at Bar Pop last week.

It seemed a BAFFLING chart hit at the time, but in hindsight, a Corrs-meets-Steps mess seemingly fronted by Denise Welch?

It's probably the song that best explains 1998.

Sorry not to be rude but she was TWENTY FIVE????

Anyway - scream - an Irish folk/pub band played this TWICE during the very merry Saint Patricks Day celebrations earlier and it made me pose the question, were they covering SHAM ROCK or was the SHAM ROCK original just a donked up Irish folk song? I honestly don't know the answer.

Always puts me in mind of LESBIAN PUB BRAWLS due to some PRESUMABLY AND THANKFULLY SUPPRESSED MEMORY so I can't even listen to it I'm afraid

She can't have been 25 if our eyes Discogs is correct, this is her in 1984:

I always like to check how this is doing after St Patrick’s Day. It has 23 million streams on Spotify now :D

Remarkably, it still seems to just be the cheap re-recording too.

I say cheap, it’s not like the original was a Phil Spector production either…

Dropping everything right now to have a bop to this, as a double feature with another 11/10 banger

This is a long shot but does anyone have the Sham Rock album? :D Everything I’ve heard from it so far (two songs) is a certified BANGER and it’s impossible to track down!

I did try with the Sham Rock album but sadly don’t think it’s possible. Fingers crossed for the proper version of Tell Me Ma though. I know some people would say the version on Spotify is effectively the same but there’s something in the single version that elevates it!

SO on that single version, I asked the rightsholder and provided a link to this thread. He asked me if I had actually looked on Spotify/ Apple etc as the single was on there.

When I said what was on there was a different recording to the version that was in the charts/ on TV and radio, I was told the version online is "the one we use now" :kim:

Who could have suspected that the rightsholder for Tell Me Ma would turn out to be George Lucas?

Is the rightsholder the lead singer? Because I have finally realised who the singer resembles / must obviously have grown up to be
