Magnificent, but there's even better on the album which is genuinely all time top ten material for me. What an undervalued gem.

So Sorry I Said is actually heartbreaking.

If you need a reason, consider me mad
An old retainer, loyal and sad
I bought my freedom but after all that we had shared
I couldn't leave you, think of the skins I'd have to shed…
Instead, so sorry, I said…

Oh LIZA :(

"Results" is tremendous but we've done that elsewhere.

"Losing My Mind" remains one of the most amazing female vocal performances EVER for me. She wrings emotion from EVERY SINGLE DROP :disco:

Oh this is absolutely amazing and I was thinking about it only yesterday, seeing what a sad state Liza still is, as the punchline for a joke about drag queens and forgetting to wear underwear.

The whole Results era was a triumph for her, and this is one of the best ever performances on TOTP. True star quality.

The video is piece of pop art - the moment when she kisses the mirror is a truly iconic moment for me, and often recreated although my nose was too big to avoid smudging when I tried it.

Having adored Liza's :disco: version for years, I only became familiar with the way Losing My Mind is 'supposed' to sound quite recently. I love this version too, in a very different way.

Her account of the recording will be online somewhere, but she argued with PSBs about not wanting the screams they put on their version on hers, as she felt it mocked the original sentiment of the song.

And Liza gets the directions wrong on TOTP when she waves her arms! I always noticed that.

i think my (32nd) favourite bit are the olivia newton physical-esque synth stabs
truly divine, darling

Astounding

I love the Wogan performance where she basically tries to molest them while they fake keyboard play.

Is she actually losing her mind these days? She didn't seem well when Piers Morgan interviewed her on the red carpet.

That thin line between being a fabulous drug addled mess unable to function and a fabulous drug-addled mess unable to function, it's a stormy hi-nrg road ahead with one or two torch moments to lead the way (to the medicine cabinet). Credit to the PSB of course, but every last grimace and gasp from Liza makes this a gin-soaked, pearl-clutching, dancefloor-seizing, expense account freezing, iconic masterpiece. Like her drinks, not a drop wasted.

When I saw her live only about 2 years ago, I was amazed at how normal and lucid she seemed in real life...

This performance on Wogan contains some of the worst miming on record... Around 1:00 in is quite something.

I do like the charismatic performance however!

The Oliviers were quite wonderful last night. In a cheap British sub-par Tonys way.
