Dua Lipa — Radical Optimism (1 Viewer)

this feels like a victory lap plotted out well in advance for a hugely successful album, rather than... anything the public demanded from Radical Optimism :eyes: but I'll take it! maybe she can sneak back into the top 10.

According to Apple Music, this is my fave album of the year :D

holy shit!

insane arrangements! houdini, training season :disco: the transformation job done on Whatcha Doing! god bless dua lipa!

Finally including MARIA :disco:

Elton single handedly making sure I never stream Cold Heart live from Royal Albert Hall again

Pretty Please is incredible. what a song

Dance The Night doesn’t make the cut at Glasto but gets an airing at the RAH. It does sound good with the strings.

Very impressed by Training Season, it sounded like a big hit single anthem that it never really transpired to when released. All in all, very impressive, I loved the staging. I just love the RAH.

Inexplicably our favourite HR associate has bagged a Brits Best Album nomination

I haven't kept anything on rotation except Happy For You

the album campaign basically stopped dead in may so definitely a surprise but god bless her. she deserves it for the triumph of the live album :disco:

I don't think anyone gives a shit about The Brits any more, tbh.

The Brits DEAD

Although I'm not 100% sure why we all stopped caring, we did

Looking forward to Dualingo Lipa catapulting it back to RELEVANCE

I think people care a lot less about awards and charts and year-end polls in general. With something like the Brits, you no longer have to sit through the stuff you don't care about, you can just watch DJ Bikechain and MC Trussliz or The Dry Fadges on YouTube and skip the rest. That has a lot to do with it, I think.

That's a fair assessment

The Brits thrived on being "event telly", but "event telly" is so much less a thing in the age of on-demand. And most of us still hold an almighty grudge over the CONTINUAL snubbing of MC Trussliz

Dua also seems to be up for Best British Single with Training Season, where her tough competition seems to be a 40 year old Beatles demo, Sam Ryder's Christmas song, YouTube gamer/boxer KSI, and the ever innovative Ella Henderson's Coolio cover. That'll get the masses watching!
