They announced early last year so it’s possible we’ll hear something official soon.

Current rumour mill is chart-topping Voice of France alum Louane. I’m not familiar but this was a #1 French hit in 2014.



Any thoughts from Moopy’s French contingent?
 
I'm not aware of the rumors but Louane is a really big name indeed, quite on par with Slimane in terms of popularity!

This song dedicated to her daughter was a huge hit last year:

 
It seems to be based on her rescheduling some live dates around May next year, so possibly just wishful thinking from the fans, but given Slimane did so well, and got a huge hit out of it, you’d think they’d be keen to stay on that level.
 
The latest rumours are French-Moroccan singer Nej' will be selected, with her latest single Mal Lunee the likely song.



She's best known for her hit Paro, which was a big viral success a couple of years ago.

 
I like it but it sounds like a year on the right hand side of the scoreboard.

The broadcaster hasn't confirmed it yet but several major news outlets are now reporting that Louane will be the representative!

The article specifically says they're waiting to see what Italy and Sweden choose before publishing the song, I guess that means they really want to win (although I'm not sure this strategy has necessarily worked before?)

Having looked at her discography she was on the voice and has had two top ten hits on the french chart. Is she an ICON or is she their version of Alexandra Burke?

There was some really good stuff on her first album...and then I lost interest. So what do you think ? :D
