not to mention getting a 60ish year old STRAIGHT to do this ranking in the first place

Petridis always championed them. I think he’s perfectly entitled to write this.

I agree that Memory of You is a glaring omission, though- if not necessarily the other two.

That's a pretty solid gold top 20, even though there are a few selections in the bottom third that wouldn't be in the running for me.

Maybe I’m just end of week tired and grumpy but feel this comment was a tad unnecessary, no?

I think Alex is about 50 and straight but displays a good knowledge of their work here.

Any list is hardly going to be terrible, but that's all a bit too Chemistry skewed for me (and not even the best album tracks). Long Hot Summer I wouldn't put anywhere near a top 20 even if I do enjoy it. And Hear Me Out creams all over No Regrets on the ballad front.

Can't argue with Biology though and it's just some bloke's list I guess
