In case anyone is interested, Alanis gave a very nice response when asked about Tori Amos' 'dog ears bleed' comment. They went on to tour together in 1999.

"I didn't really consider her my saviour, but I was very inspired by her. inspired by her empowerment through her vunerability. I'm still a fan of hers, I'll always be a fan. Everyone has their opinion. Whether they love my record or hate it, I just think being in the public eye and sharing music is an amazing way for people to define themselves and we define ourselves in accordance. Not The Doctor is my favourite of the straightforward summery guitar pop tracks. "VISITING HOURS are NINE TO FIVE" makes me picture Lady Gaga in German nurse cosplay for SOME REASON - a lyric!

I first got Jagged Little Pill by recording my COUSIN'S CD onto a CASSETTE.

It fucking stopped halfway through Wake Up.

I was SO excited when I finally got to hear the rest of the song when I bought the CD a few months later (I was 8 so had to save up :()

I didn't realise that the version of You Oughta Know at the end of the album was a different mix for a very long time. Which is odd given that they aren't very similar at all.
 
I didn't realise there was a hidden track for years....I heard somethin SCREECHING downstairs once after the album finished and I couldn't believe it.

I used to always stop the CD at Wake Up
 
How good are the acoustic versions on the 20th anniversary edition 3rd disc? I'm loving this version of Your House - that's my album closer

Overall, a great album which gets better as it goes on. I love those few albums that represent "lightning in a bottle" moments in 90s music - this and Come On Over in particular
 
I stole my brothers copy of this CD, and never gave him it back, sorry big bro x
