No only is it dreadful it’s not REMOTELY on theme with the rest of the album - and it barely has a theme to begin with!

I think this was the era of releasing a remix with about eight rappers to try and get a hit, so I imagine she just wanted to reach another audience.

Jewels N Drugs feels like about five songs forced together in some hideous cut and shut operation. Not an unusual complaint about the tracks so far.
 
When she's in shouty mode I struggle to pick up on the lyrics
 
From HIP-HOP HOOK GIRL to campy '80s rocker. The whiplash I am experiencing right now is too much.

(I do love MANiCURE though).
 
"MANiCURE" is very "here's a wordplay I'm super impressed with!"
"Gaga, I don't think we should use it."
"Well, something kinda introspective, something that means a little bit to me, a little more... personal?"

And if you get that reference you're a real one.

Manicure is much more focused than the other songs so far. It actually feels like it knows what it wants to say, which is quite a nice change.

I remember finding it a total headache but it's really not bad actually. Her vocal is great. "I'm ADDICTED to LAAAAHV"

'ARTPOP' is lush. The second best song on the album.
 
Absolutely love this track and I'll always listen to the original version. Yes I know he's a vile piece of shit, but I don't even think about him when listening to it.
