Well I'd imagine this is the easiest way of getting them to stick around.

I wouldn't mind another Joost entry if it can be to the same level as 'Europapa', I just don't want a situation where the contest is a foregone conclusion :bad:
 
Got to be a favourite to win if he does, and what a middle finger that would be.

OT: love this recently discovered trancey stuff from him earlier this year. Not Eurovision friendly in the slightest but interesting to see what he normally puts out.

There was insufficient evidence that a criminal offence was committed and so the police investigation was dropped. I can’t see that the EBU carried out any further investigation of their own after that. He has very much not been exonerated from behaving in a way that would be inappropriate in any workplace, whatever he says.
 
It'd be interesting to see the vibe he goes for next year if it is him. If he goes full up middle finger and directly/indirectly references what happened last year he could well spark a backlash, but pretending nothing happened and he just happens to be back again with another merry Euro-ditty (sans dead dad bit at the end, presumably) would also strike as a bit odd.

I suppose outside the hardcore fans and Dutch viewers, there wouldn't be *that* much active awareness of what went down though.
 
Notwithstanding the fact that I am not a fan of him, his song this year (whilst really quite awful) was distinctive and he may have found that difficult to replicate.
 
It's Claude. Another big local name, this was a massive #1 hit in 2022.



He seems to primarily sing in French, so I assume there's a reasonable chance he'll do the same here.

Ooh that popped up on one of my Spotify playlists a while ago. More of the same please.
 
I’m pretty happy with Claude. Not in the least because it will annoy our right wing politicians just like Europapa did. I like his debut album. Every song kind of sounds the same but the viewers won’t know that.

It’s surprising how the Dutch entry is the most streamed song on Spotify for the second time since 2019 for a nation that’s not really known for its televote appeal.
