When was the last time Mr Brightside WASN’T in the charts?

Christmases aside it's been in the charts on a permanent basis since October 2020. It was more sporadic before then.

I assume the answer will be something TikTok related, but does anybody know why Milli Vanilli's Blame it On The Rain is randomly enjoying a run on the Spotify daily charts?

The Menendez drama on Netflix - a couple of Milli Vanilli tracks get prominent features.

I was watching a bit of The Voice yesterday 🎤 LeAnn Rimes singing was quite amazing, probably the best 'interval performance' from a TV judge of a show that I've seen

😊
Though I only just found out she was only 14 or so when she recorded How Do I Live 😅

Also worth noting Disturbed's "The Sound of Silence" has been on the charts since April, having previously charted in 2016. I had missed this previously as I wasn't aware of it.

Why has Crowded House recharted?

Somewhere deep inside tells me it's an advert.

Milli Vanilli first chart appearance since 1990.

Why have MV resurfaced? I’ve heard a couple of tracks on the radio this week too.
As discussed above, they're apparently featured on the new, no doubt generic Menendez Brothers feature on Netflix.

The lower end of the top 40 is certainly a lot more interesting than the top end at the moment!

The Crowded House song is in some netflix thing, can't remember its name

32 37 Crowded House - Don't Dream It's Over (15wks)
42 40 Milli Vanilli - I'm Gonna Miss You (18wks)

100 RE Hozier - Take Me To Church (113wks)

OUT

48 43 Linkin Park - Numb (15wks)

Not an especially interesting week. Most songs just bobbing around, although Linkin Park drop out, I presume the hype around their recent comeback has slowed down.

Coldplay back in for the first time since early August, Hozier for the first time since May.

Worth noting only one of the above songs reached number 1 (Viva La Vida). The lowest peaking songs are:

#13 Linger
#24 Dreams
#25 Don't Dream It's Over
#29 Sound of Silence
#47 Blame It On The Rain

The rest all went top 10, although four of them underperformed initially getting to #10 (including Mr Brightside).

Just noticed LeAnn Rimes hasn't recharted. It's a very male dominated list. Only Bedingfield, Doolittle, Nicks and McVie represent, which is a collaboration I have mixed feelings about.

A bit like the all time lists which seem very male dominated. Which is quite odd, as often the year end charts are very female and male relatively equally represented. Wonder if there’s any reason why?
