Paris 2024 - Day 8 (Sat 3 August)

The BBC are showing the Imane Khelif match. I know it's a headline, but it just seems... needlessly provocative. I dunno.

She won and she's guaranteed a medal

Remco doing the time-trial and road race double. What a generational talent.

I agree ordinarily a women’s boxing quarter final wouldn’t make it to the main coverage, however it’s a big story so they’re obviously going to feature it. I watched it live and wouldn’t ordinarily have any interest in the event.

I've finally been driven to Eurosport by the endless BBC athletics chatter. Think I may switch back for the big races mind.

Dina didn't seem to have it at all there. After her heat she was saying the right things but didn't seem at all happy.

Saint Lucia have never won a medal, but seem to have a very strong chance of changing that in the women’s 100m

The Mixed Relay entrances are giving Eurovision Flag Parade realness.

GB in the final but doesn’t appear to be a priority event.

The Americans look mortified as if they have let down their country. Which they have.

YES!

Neita about where she should be. The Jamaican really underperformed from the semi run.

Sha’Carri managing to be a good sport there in defeat, not something she’s always good with. Great run from Alfred, Richardson seems to run better when she’s not in the middle of the pack. Colin Jackson doing his best to zap any energy out of the moment as usual with his commentary.
