I have a specific fondness for Foxbase Alpha which is partly circumstantial; I bought the album when it was released and it was very different to my usual fare at the time. I was 18 in 1991 and there was nothing like "Carnt Sleep" or "London Belongs To Me" in my record collection. But it also tied in with the indie aesthetic in ways I could understand. There were signs the record didn't have much a budget - the fidelity of some of the samples/drum patterns being the major audio artefact - so I understood it in a certain way but it was also an era-opener.

I love London Belongs To Me so much. I think I pop it on the old earphones every time I go near the capital.
